    Founded in 1941 as Okinawa’s first tourist Hotel, Okinawa Hotel preserves four nationally Registered Tangible Cultural Properties on its grounds: the Ryokan Wing, the Brick Building, the main gate “Ufu-domon,” and the tiled stone wall.

    The distinctive U-shaped Ryokan Wing was designed by renowned Okinawan architect Hisao Nakaza. The Brick Building tells the story of Okinawa Hotel’s postwar history. The main gate “Ufu-domon,” with its striking Ryukyu red roof tiles, welcomes guests at the entrance. The tiled stone wall—made of Ryukyu limestone and red tiles—creates a uniquely Okinawan landscape.

    Though located in central Naha, a walk through the property lets you experience Okinawa’s history and architectural culture up close. Enjoy a stay that offers more than just accommodation—one that lets you feel the passage of time in Okinawa.
