Hanamaki Onsen Hotel Senshukaku

This was my first trip to Iwate, and staying at this Hotel was absolutely the right choice!You can freely walk between the three buildings—Senkyokaku, Hotel Hanamaki, and Koyokan—via covered walkways, and enjoy a total of four large public baths.Each Onsen has its own unique character, and for an Onsen lover like me, it felt like paradise.All three buildings have souvenir shops as well, so you can enjoy browsing from store to store.At night, there was a taiko drum show on the stage in the Koyokan lobby. It was a full-scale performance and truly wonderful.The Room was clean and spacious, with everything we needed for a comfortable stay.There isn’t a convenience store within walking distance, but there’s a drugstore right in front of the Hotel that sells most essentials, so it wasn’t inconvenient.After check-out, we took the Shuttle Service bus to the station, and what stayed with me most was how the staff waved goodbye as they saw us off.The Shuttle Service bus stops at all four Hotels on its way to the station—and at every one of them, staff members came out to see guests off. One Hotel even sent us off with bubbles.I think it’s rare these days to find a Hotel that offers such warm service.Thanks to them, I headed home feeling truly happy.I’d love to plan another trip to Iwate soon just to stay at this Hotel again.Thank you for taking such great care of us.By the way, the Shuttle Service bus is by Reservation only.If you plan to use it, I recommend making your Reservation early.

This time, we were drawn in by the TV commercial for the Rose Festival and made a last-minute Reservation. Not only was the rose garden beautiful, but we also really enjoyed the Onsen experience—especially the rose bath and open-air bath—as well as the Tsugaru shamisen live performance. The meals offered a wide variety of delicious dishes, and our Room was spacious and comfortable. As an elderly couple, we truly enjoyed our Onsen trip.
