[Updated August 14] Our Operating Status and Transportation Access Following the 2026 Kumamoto Earthquake
We extend our heartfelt sympathies to everyone affected by the 2026 Kumamoto Earthquake. We sincerely pray for a swift recovery and reconstruction.
[Operating Status]
At Aso Baien SPA RESORT, we inspected the building, Facility, utilities, and other infrastructure after the earthquake. At this time, no damage has been found that would cause significant disruption to stays or on-site services. We are operating as usual.
[For Guests Arriving by Car]
From Fukuoka / Saga:
Exit the Kyushu Expressway at Kumamoto IC and proceed toward Aso via National Route 57.
From Kumamoto City:
Via the Kumamoto IC area, proceed toward Aso via National Route 57.
From Aso Kumamoto Airport:
Take Prefectural Route 36 toward Ozu, then from Muro in Ozu Town proceed toward Aso via National Route 57.
We have confirmed on site that the main routes from Kumamoto IC and from Muro (Ozu Town) to our Accommodation are passable, with no road closures or traffic restrictions currently in place.
On the Kyushu Expressway, the closure between Matsubase IC and Ebino IC was lifted at 6:00 AM on August 14, and all sections are now open to traffic. However, two-way traffic control remains in effect between Miyahara SA and Yatsushiro IC.
On the Minami-Kyushu Expressway, the section between Yatsushiro JCT and Tanoura IC remains closed; however, our standard route from Kumamoto IC via National Route 57 does not pass through this section.
[Public Transportation]
JR Hohi Main Line services at Akamizu Station and Tateno Station are operating normally. We offer Shuttle Service from both stations to our Accommodation; please contact us in advance if you would like to use it.
