Hitokata no Accommodation “seppa” is a private rental Accommodation that welcomes guests who feel a connection to the sword culture rooted in this area and to the lives of swordsmiths and other craftsmen. “Seppa” is named after seppa—thin metal spacers that sit on both sides of the tsuba (hand guard), quietly yet securely fastening the blade and hilt together. They are almost invisible from the outside, but without them a sword cannot function as a sword. Like seppa, we hope this Accommodation will be here as a quiet presence that connects sword culture with everyday life in this town—and connects people with one another.
