This private whole-house Accommodation, fully renovated from a 1995 home, is limited to one group per day and features a “super borrowed-scenery window” that frames Mt. Buko—one of Japan’s 200 Famous Mountains—like a single painting, a 6+ meter earth-wall art piece made with local soil, and three bedrooms each with its own distinct character. On the earthen-floor terrace, enjoy an authentic Finnish sauna with self-service löyly. After sweating it out in the sauna room kept at high humidity and a smooth, comfortable temperature, cool down in the 1-meter-deep cold plunge. Then unwind on the scenic terrace overlooking the mountains with luxurious open-air relaxation surrounded by nature’s air and sounds. At night, watch your favorite films with a projector that can be cast onto the super borrowed-scenery window screen. In the morning, enjoy a refreshing breeze—and even an early sauna session. Just 70 minutes from central Tokyo at fastest access, this is a hidden retreat in Chichibu/Yokoze you’ll want to return to again and again in every season.

A private whole-house Accommodation with sauna, limited to one group per day, overlooking Mt. Buko—one of Japan’s 20 Famous Mountains—and terraced rice fields.

“DANDAN” is a private rental Accommodation with a sauna, limited to one group per day, opened in June 2025 in Yokoze, Chichibu District, Saitama Prefecture. Bringing together local creators, we fully renovated a vacant house built in 1995 and transformed it into a renewed space with new value.

The living room’s large picture window, the “Super Borrowed-Scenery Window,” frames a one-of-a-kind view where Chichibu’s symbol, Mt. Buko, stands alongside a cement plant—like a painting. By day, take in the terraced rice fields’ gradients; by night, enjoy a sweeping view all the way to the factory lights. A towering earthen wall art piece over 6 meters high, made with local soil, depicts stepped fields and embraces the space together with a large solid cedar table. On the earthen-floored terrace that extends outdoors, you can also enjoy a gas BBQ grill (no fire-starting needed; available until 21:00) while feeling the breeze of Yokoze.

Each Room features a distinct concept and interior design: a Japanese-Western Room combining tatami and wood flooring, a twin Room with an open, double-height ceiling, and a second-floor double Room overlooking Mt. Buko and terraced rice fields. All Rooms are equipped with a work desk, allowing you to enjoy an ambiance that changes from day to night. For details, please see the “Room” tab.

An authentic Finnish sauna and a 1-meter-deep cold plunge pool

A Finnish-style sauna with consistently high humidity, combining a Swedish Tylö stove with a steam generator. Even at a moderate temperature of around 70°C, it promotes deep sweating, and you can enjoy self löyly at your leisure (swimwear required; max 5 guests). After the sauna, cool down in the 1 m-deep cold plunge pool, then relax on the open-air terrace facing Mt. Buko. For details, please see the “Onsen & Bath” tab.
