CURRENT Awaji Island is a private, whole-house villa perched on a hill in the island’s northeast. Its open setting with sweeping ocean views is part of its charm. Inspired by these waters—where calm surfaces hide powerful currents mixing below—we named it “CURRENT,” meaning “tide line / present.” It carries the hope that this place will become a turning point in your life. Open the large windows and a space unfolds where sea and sky seem to merge into one. A spacious earthen-floored area that connects indoors to the landscape, a wood-fire hearth, and large sliding dining doors are just some of the features designed to keep you close to nature.
