A Second Home Where Sea and Sky Meet

SANU 2nd Home is your “second home” where body and mind can truly unwind and your senses open up. Step back from busy city life, feel nature with all five senses, and live with your own hands in a second home designed for everyday living. Awaji Island lies just across the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge from Kobe, often called the island where Japan began. CURRENT Awaji Island is a private, whole-house villa perched on a hill in the island’s northeast. Its open setting with sweeping ocean views is part of its charm. Inspired by these waters—where calm surfaces hide powerful currents mixing below—we named it “CURRENT,” meaning “tide line / present.” It carries the hope that this place will become a turning point in your life. Open the large windows and a space unfolds where sea and sky seem to merge into one. A spacious earthen-floored area that connects indoors to the landscape, a wood-fire hearth, and large sliding dining doors are just some of the features designed to keep you close to nature. A semi-open-air bath is also available, offering time to reset body and mind while taking in Awaji Island’s unique terroir. How you spend your time is entirely up to you. Enjoy your own special moments at CURRENT Awaji Island.
