SANU 2nd Home Niseko 1st

A second home nestled in a forest rising from the mountains, where you can live in harmony with nature.

SANU 2nd Home is “another home” where your mind and body can truly rest and your senses can open up. Step back from busy city life, feel nature with all five senses, and live by your own hands—this is a second home designed for that purpose. Among the SANU 2nd Homes across Japan, Niseko 1st is an ideal base not only for those who want to slow down and unwind in magnificent nature, but also for anyone looking to enjoy winter sports. Set on a highland overlooking Mt. Yotei, you’ll find clear streams, forests, and crisp air. In this expansive Hokkaido landscape, you can let your thoughts wander, read a book, or savor the luxury of doing nothing at all. In summer, walk through the woods and listen to the river’s gentle flow; in winter, be surrounded by a world of snow. Enjoy a stay that lets you feel Niseko’s unique seasonal changes. This standalone cabin seamlessly connects daily living with nature by integrating the living area and balcony into one continuous space. A cabin that reflects care for the plants and animals living in mossy forests—and love for the Earth. With an open workspace plus a kitchen and dining area spacious enough to cook together with family, friends, or your partner and share meals comfortably, it offers a rich living environment that feels like an extension of everyday life. Sunlight pours in through skylights, while windows throughout ensure natural scenery is always within view—bringing inside and outside together for a lifestyle lived alongside nature. Morning: Quietly grind coffee beans on the terrace as sunlight filters through the trees. Afternoon: Put on a seasonal music playlist and let yourself sink into sound. Evening: Warm up slowly in your private sauna, then step outside to breathe deeply in fresh air. Night: Add logs to the fire as you lose yourself in thought. How you spend your time is entirely up to you. Find what feels just right for you.
