Both “Asana” and “Yuuna” feature a kitchen equipped with an IH cooktop, cookware, and tableware. We also recommend picking up local ingredients at the morning markets held along the Miyagawa River or in front of Takayama Jinya and enjoying cooking during your stay. “Asana” offers a bathroom finished with deep green tiles inspired by the nature of Hida Takayama, while “Yuuna” features a hinoki cypress bathtub. A washer-dryer is also provided, making these accommodations ideal for mid- to long-term stays.

We offer an optional breakfast, available either “Delivered to your machiya” or “Dining at a nearby café.” Choose from four breakfast styles: a catered machiya breakfast (Japanese or Western-style) to enjoy in your Room, sandwiches to enjoy in your machiya, or a local café breakfast at a morning café featuring Hida Takayama ingredients. *Please book a Plan with breakfast included.*

Hida Takayama has long been renowned as a timber-producing region and home to master craftsmen known as the “Hida no Takumi,” celebrated for their expertise in wooden architecture and woodworking. Throughout this machiya, you will find furniture crafted by local artisans who carry on that tradition. In particular, the dining table in the living-dining area was custom-designed specifically for this machiya.

The popular Hida Takayama sightseeing area “Old Town” lined with long-established sake breweries and shops is within walking distance. About a 1-minute walk from Takayama Station, where trains and highway buses depart for the World Heritage site Shirakawa-go, the Shinhotaka Ropeway in the Northern Alps, and Hida-Furukawa, known for its beautiful streetscape of earthen storehouses and canals.
