Said to have opened about 1,350 years ago, it has flourished for centuries as a therapeutic bathing destination. Spring Quality & Benefits Shirahama Onsen is mainly a sodium- and calcium-chloride spring. The water is gentle on the skin and warms the body from the core. It is known to help with fatigue recovery, muscle aches, nerve pain, sensitivity to cold, chronic dermatitis, and women’s health concerns—making it ideal for relaxation and overall wellness.
