  • We stayed as a group of four friends and had an absolutely wonderful experience. The spacious accommodation, excellent service, sauna, meals, and activities like the bonfire were all exceptional. It was a luxurious summer vacation where we could forget about daily life and enjoy a relaxing time. The building had a charming and impressive appearance, and every room was truly beautiful. It gave us a unique feeling of both being uplifted yet relaxed at the same time. The expansive garden and courtyard were lovely, with clean sauna spaces offering peaceful areas to unwind both indoors and outdoors. In this private setting, it was so quiet that we could only hear the distant sounds of insects while enjoying complete relaxation. The meals featuring plenty of Yamanashi ingredients were delightful, as was the complimentary Yamanashi tea provided—it was incredibly delicious! We are also very grateful for the staff's attentive hospitality throughout our stay. Despite some hectic moments during check-in or dinner times, they handled everything with care and flexibility, allowing us to feel at ease.Having previously stayed at another property in this series of accommodations built from traditional Japanese houses (kominka), we found each one has its own unique charm despite sharing similar origins. We would love to return for another special occasion in the future!

  • We stayed at this accommodation in July 2025 with our child's friend's family. We took the train heading towards Yamanashi, and upon arriving at Higashi-Hanawa Station from Kofu, we were immediately struck by how fresh and different the air felt. Even the children remarked, "The air feels different," which confirmed it for us.Although it was hot, the accommodation is about a 10-minute walk from the station. Having a convenience store nearby was also very helpful. As we approached the accommodation, we were amazed by its grand entrance that gave a sense of spaciousness. Just as we were feeling nervous about staying in such an impressive place, a staff member warmly welcomed us.The staff member was incredibly kind and provided clear explanations about the facility and dinner times before seamlessly blending into their tasks like part of the atmosphere. They were attentive to children's needs and flexible with requests like adjusting sauna times—thank you so much for your help! The room was so spacious that even two families had more than enough space to enjoy comfortably. The children were thrilled to find toys such as Daruma Otoshi (a traditional Japanese game), ring toss, and bamboo stilts—thoughtful touches that showed great consideration. In today's digital age where tablets are common for kids, it felt refreshing to have them detox from screens here. For adults, there was a counter-like area near the kitchen where we toasted together and relaxed for some time. Since we had set an early dinner time, it wasn’t long before dinner began—and what a meal! Grilled sweetfish with salt or pork roasted over an irori hearth made us truly appreciate each ingredient's value. The salad made with Yamanashi-grown vegetables in jelly dressing was also delicious. After dinner—which ended while it was still evening—we enjoyed activities like sitting around a campfire or playing with fireworks until nightfall when our children quickly fell asleep after all their excitement.Later on, adults spent quiet time at the counter enjoying music through excellent sound equipment connected to an iPad—a perfect way to complement this traditional house's charm while relaxing together. At night came nature’s symphony: frogs croaking loudly from nearby rice fields; observing cicadas emerging on trees; spotting stray cats wandering around—all these moments brought us closer to nature’s beauty. It felt like returning home—a nostalgic yet heartwarming experience at this wonderful accommodation where we'd love another chance someday soon!
