Located in Oasa, Kitahiroshima Town, on the border between Hiroshima and Shimane Prefectures. One group per day only—rent the entire house exclusively for up to 12 guests. This former residence of a swordsmith family, passed down since the late Edo period, has been fully renovated. While preserving its historic character, the spacious interior has been redesigned in a modern style to comfortably accommodate larger groups. Perched on a hilltop and offering over 200 m² of space, Ishibashi Residence lets you enjoy special moments with family and friends in complete privacy. From the dining room’s large windows, take in panoramic views of Mt. Samukake and Oasa’s beautiful rural landscape.     We are pleased to introduce the new “Kura Sauna” at hitaru Ishibashi Residence, created by renovating a historic storehouse over 100 years old. Guests staying with us may enjoy it as a private sauna.

    hitaru Ishibashi Residence is a thatched-roof traditional farmhouse, limited to one group per day, renovated from the former home of generations of swordsmiths dating back to the late Edo period. Nestled in the satoyama countryside of Oasa, Kitahiroshima Town, northern Hiroshima—where Japan’s timeless rural scenery remains—you can unwind and enjoy nature that changes beautifully with the seasons.

    The newly opened “Kura Sauna” makes use of an on-site historic storehouse, blending its distinctive character with modern comfort. Surrounded by the kura’s solid, atmospheric presence, enjoy self löyly and gently reset both body and mind.

    After your sauna session, refresh in the cold plunge bath and relax in our outdoor air-bathing area. You can also soak in the infinity bath overlooking satoyama views—taking in Mt. Samuhiki and Oasa’s peaceful rice fields for an open-air moment of deep relaxation. The scenery shifts throughout the day—from morning to afternoon, sunset, and night—adding to this location’s unique charm.

    This plan accommodates 2 to 9 guests. It is ideal for families and friends as well as couples or fellow sauna enthusiasts. With only one group per day, both the house and sauna are entirely yours—no need to worry about others.

    This is a room-only plan (no meals included). Feel free to bring your favorite ingredients and drinks—cook together in the island kitchen or spend quality time chatting in the spacious living room—and enjoy your stay at your own pace.
