About Obama

Obama, facing Wakasa Bay, is the starting point of the “Saba Kaido” (Mackerel Road), which once carried seafood to Kyoto. With a rich food culture shaped by its history as Miketsukuni, Wakasa lacquerware, port-town scenery, and streetscapes designated as an Important Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings, it is a town where the more you walk, the more you discover.
