While preserving the charm of classic machiya architecture, we have created a comfortable setting and welcome you to a space where you can experience the local life and culture of Obama.







The Accommodation is located in the heart of Obama City, where historic streetscapes remain. While preserving the charm of a traditional townhouse, the interior has been newly designed with a modern Japanese style and traditional touches, and is equipped with clean, convenient Facilities and appliances. Throughout your stay, you can experience Obama’s everyday life and culture up close. By spending time discovering the sea, local food, and scenes of daily life, you’ll enjoy a stay that lets you feel “Obama-ness” beyond just being a travel destination.





Obama, facing Wakasa Bay, is the starting point of the “Saba Kaido” (Mackerel Road), which once carried seafood to Kyoto. With a rich food culture shaped by its history as Miketsukuni, Wakasa lacquerware, port-town scenery, and streetscapes designated as an Important Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings, it is a town where the more you walk, the more you discover.

Pickup is at 14:30 at Obama Station. We will stop by the check-in location, “Michi-no-Eki Wakasa Obama,” and then take you to the Accommodation building.
