If you are arriving by car, we recommend entering Karuizawa from the Usui-Karuizawa Interchange and taking the route via Onna Kaido (Road beside 72 Golf) → Kazakoshi Park → Shiozawa, or via Kazakoshi Park → Hotchi, rather than heading north on Prince Street. These routes are less congested and offer a smoother drive with beautiful scenery. It takes approximately 17 minutes by car from the Usui-Karuizawa Interchange. During midwinter, please come with studless (winter) tires or snow chains. (Even if there is no snow on the road, it may freeze when temperatures are below 0°C.) If you are arriving by Shinkansen, transfer at Karuizawa Station to the Shinano Railway. From the first stop, Naka-Karuizawa Station, it is about a 10-minute taxi ride. Alternatively, from the second stop, Shinano-Oiwake Station, it is about a 5-minute taxi ride.
