At THE KANI YAMANE, we serve authentic Echizen crab with the official yellow tag, carefully selected at Echizen Port and Mikuni Port. The owner personally attends the auctions in Echizen Town and Mikuni Port, inspecting each crab and purchasing only the finest from among many. We choose only the best of the day and serve it to our guests at its most delicious peak.

THE KANI YAMANE reopened under a new brand in April 2026. With only five guest rooms, all are spacious suites ranging from 60 to 170 sqm. Each suite offers a distinct atmosphere, allowing you to enjoy a quiet stay in complete privacy. Spend a relaxing moment with someone special.

Right in front of you is the Sea of Japan. Enjoy the sunset and garden—luxurious moments on the Echizen Coast.

In front of you lies the Sea of Japan and “Sunset Hill,” offering stunning sunset views. Stroll through a garden planted with seasonal flowers and herbs while feeling the sea breeze. Surrounded by beautiful scenery and greenery, take your time to simply relax and enjoy doing nothing.

170 sqm of luxury. Spend precious time with your loved ones in our new “Azami” wing.

Opened in December 2025, our new annex “Azami” is a spacious 170 m² suite. With three bedrooms and a terrace, it is ideal for multi-generational family trips and anniversary stays. Enjoy a special time at your own pace, without being rushed by anyone.

Not only winter Echizen crab, but from spring through autumn we also serve rich, fatty nodoguro (blackthroat seaperch), seasonal live crab caught in Echizen, and summer abalone. We carefully select the finest ingredients of the season and prepare each dish with care. Enjoy Fukui’s gourmet cuisine—so good you’ll want to return in every season.

You may reserve one private detached guesthouse (“Annex”) exclusively for your stay. Dogs are not allowed in the main building. Up to two small dogs per stay (JPY 3,300 per dog, tax included). Please bring copies of your vaccination certificate and rabies vaccination certificate on the day of arrival (issued within the past year). On arrival, please sign the “Pet Stay Agreement.” Guests are fully responsible for any injury or damage caused by their dogs to other guests, staff, or property. If any in-room items are damaged, soiled, or lost, the actual cost will be charged to the guest.
