An experiential Restaurant & Stay Hotel with close-up views of the Ishibutai Tumulus

Asuka Village, known as the "Birthplace of Japan" and aiming for World Heritage status, is a place where 1,400 years of history and serene natural landscapes still thrive. Located near the iconic Ishibutai Kofun, "Bransiera Ishibutai Terrace" offers five spacious rooms with high ceilings and terraces equipped with hammocks for relaxation. On the first floor, our restaurant serves breakfast and dinner featuring local ingredients and culinary traditions unique to Nara and Asuka. Embracing the charm of the region, we provide a space where guests can "stay," "dine," and "connect with the community," delivering an exclusive experience rooted in Asuka Village's vibrant culture and tranquility.

  • All the staff are so kind! The Ishibutai Tumulus is very close by, and if you walk a little further there are more ancient burial mounds—it's amazing! The Room is even nicer than in the photos. The Asuka scenery is beautiful, and you can also see Mt. Nijo. Relaxing in the hammock on the balcony was wonderful! The BALMUDA kettle and the coffee packs were delicious! There were lots of tasteful books in the stairwell area, and I really enjoyed them. The manga “Tenjo no Niji” was so interesting—I want to read more! Breakfast was great too—the white rice was glossy and delicious! Maybe because there are only five rooms, it’s quiet in the morning and you can eat at a relaxed pace. They also store your luggage after checkout! When I mentioned we were going for a walk to Asukadera Temple and Iruka’s Kubizuka, they gave us frozen Aquarius sports drink and Ramune candies to help prevent heatstroke. So grateful!

[Recommended & Popular] Morning Walk Activity with an Asuka Village Guide

[Enjoy Asuka Village More Deeply] Our experiential Plan with a guided morning walk activity is very popular.

Asuka, where the capital was established for about 100 years some 1,400 years ago, is considered the birthplace of Japan. Beneath the rice paddies lie Asuka-period ruins, and the entire village is protected under the Asuka Law. With most sites still unexcavated, this land is truly a time capsule that transcends centuries. Discover ancient romance and timeless satoyama landscapes—come and enjoy an exciting stroll through Asuka.

Brillia Ishibutai Terrace is ideally located with excellent access to iconic Asuka-period historic sites such as the Ishibutai Tumulus, the Asuka Palace Ruins, and Asukadera Temple. It also sits at the gateway to satoyama countryside adorned with beautiful terraced rice fields, allowing you to experience Asuka’s unique history and nature up close.

On our morning walk, you will explore the area around our property on foot while tracing traces of daily life and history from the Asuka period. Visit historic sites such as the Ishibutai Tumulus and enjoy terraced rice fields and satoyama scenery that change with each season as we guide you through the charm created by Asuka’s rich blend of history and nature.
