Isoka no Yuyado Ubarakan
Chiba Prefecture/Katsuura CityA “hidden, long-established Ryokan” quietly nestled in the Boso Peninsula Quasi-National Park
Ubarakan is an Accommodation where you can savor fresh seafood. Seafood delivered directly from the fishing port right in front of us is among the best in Boso in both quality and quantity. Our natural Onsen, enjoyed in four types of baths (Tunnel Bath, Cave Bath, Scenic View Bath, and Private Family Bath), is also highly praised. Surrounded by the beautiful, unspoiled scenery of Ubara Risokyo, our Accommodation offers Rooms with sweeping views of the Pacific Ocean and Ubara Risokyo. Forget the bustle of everyday life and enjoy time that flows at a leisurely pace.
We searched for a well-reviewed Onsen with an ocean view and decided to stay here. From check-in to being shown to our Room, and even during meals, the staff always served us with a smile, making our stay very pleasant. The meals were very luxurious and absolutely delicious. The ocean-view terrace was also beautiful, and we were able to relax at our leisure. This is a Facility we would love to visit again.
たけお2006 5/19/2026I’d been curious about Ubarakan for a while, but our schedules never matched and I kept missing the chance to go. When I suddenly got a day off, I was finally able to visit. After passing through the tunnel, I arrived at the parking lot. The staff hurried over and guided me.The Room with an open-air bath was spotless, and the refrigerator was well stocked. There are several baths, and each one has its own unique style—fun to try, and they left me feeling wonderfully warm. The dining area was a clean semi-private space where I could relax, and the female staff member’s service was excellent with a warm smile. Everything was delicious.Since I chose the small-portion Plan for dinner, I thought I could manage it and ordered spiny lobster as well—but I ended up completely full and left a little.Usually when traveling solo you get a small spiny lobster, but at Ubarakan it was incredibly large and very satisfying. The next day, the head came back as two big bowls of miso soup. This meal at this price—outstanding service and amazing value. I definitely want to come again.

Introduction of the Accommodation

Ubara Risokyo, one of Boso’s most scenic spots
The area around “Ubara Risokyo” truly lives up to its name, offering a lush, breathtaking landscape where untouched nature still remains. And standing at the gateway to Ubara Risokyo—where this beautiful natural scenery begins—is Ubarakan. Ubarakan and Ubara Risokyo share a deep connection: it is said that the name “Ubara Risokyo” was originally given in the late Taisho period by Mr. Sugihisa Goto, an uncle of the current owner of Ubarakan, who dreamed of developing the area as a villa resort. With the Pacific Ocean right before you and surrounded by the stunning nature of Ubara Risokyo, Ubarakan is, in every sense, part of what makes this place so special. Ubara Risokyo also features walking trails, and from the hilltop observation park you can enjoy panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean.

Enjoy four distinct types of natural Onsen
Enjoy four distinctive baths fed by natural Onsen water. Step through a small tunnel to the “Tunnel Bath,” unwind in the mystical “Cave Bath,” take in sweeping views of nature from the “Panoramic Bath,” or enjoy a private retreat in the “Private Family Bath.” Each bath is full of playful charm, helping you relax both body and mind.
