Matsurube Onsen Kamikura is a seven-room Onsen Accommodation nestled in the forests of Matsurube at the foot of Mt. Kurikoma in Iwate. In a serene space that harmonizes with nature, we offer a stay that gently restores both body and mind. Each guest room features a unique design, incorporating traditional Tohoku materials and fine local craftsmanship to create a calm, refined atmosphere. Through large windows, enjoy sweeping seasonal views and peaceful moments far from everyday life. In the baths, the soft-feeling water is kept clean through heating and circulation filtration, offering soothing relaxation alongside nature’s changing expressions from morning to evening. Dining features a “Japanese French” course menu made with local ingredients. Seasonal blessings are carefully prepared to delight all five senses. In the lounge, please help yourself to herbal tea and baked sweets. Step away from the bustle and savor an indulgent time surrounded by quiet nature and exceptional cuisine.




After your arrival, please enjoy a welcome drink in the Accommodation’s private lounge. We offer seasonal herbal tea, original drinks made with local ingredients, and homemade baked treats. Surrounded by relaxing music and the warmth of wood, unwind from your journey and savor a leisurely start to your stay. The lounge is available at any time during your stay. It is also ideal for reading or spending time in conversation.






Each of our seven guest rooms features a unique design, creating a refined space that highlights traditional Tohoku materials such as warm wood and earthen walls. In our bathhouse surrounded by the nature of Matsurube, we offer gently warming water with circulation and filtration for a soft, soothing feel on the skin. Through the large windows, enjoy seasonal scenery and a deeply relaxing moment accompanied by rustling trees and birdsong. Bathe in the morning light or unwind as dusk settles in—feeling at one with nature as your mind and body gently reset. Separate bathing areas for men and women feature spacious indoor baths and washing stations for a comfortable, unhurried soak.
