A relaxing escape surrounded by the majestic nature of Mt. Mifuneyama, where you can enjoy the Onsen and sauna.

Forest INN: An Accommodation Offering a Stay as if Immersed in a Deep Forest Spanning 150,000 tsubo of the vast Mifuneyama forest, we have seamlessly connected it with the renewed art-filled lobby of Mifuneyama Rakuen Hotel to create a unified experience. The lobby's art is curated by the globally acclaimed "teamLab," featuring permanent installations such as "Forest of Resonating Lamps and Spiral One Stroke." The dimly lit lobby evokes the deepest parts of Mifuneyama forest, while countless Venetian glass pieces hanging from the ceiling represent its flowers and trees. The lighting colors shift with Mifuneyama's changing seasons, creating an enchanting dreamlike atmosphere. As you pass through this magical lobby towards your guest room, natural light gradually fills the space, growing brighter and more inviting. Experience a unique present where nature meets art and past meets future in the serene forests of Mifuneyama.

  • For my first trip to Saga, I stayed at this accommodation that I had been curious about for a long time. This time, I chose a room with an open-air bath that I couldn't stop thinking about. The bath was spacious, and the changing scenery and temperature throughout the day made it absolutely perfect! Since I'm not interested in saunas at all, I spent most of my time soaking in the room's bath. The staff were kind, and although I didn't have high expectations for TeamLab, it was impressive how they repurposed unused areas of the accommodation for collaboration. Of course, TeamLab itself was wonderful too. The food was delicious; however, if there's one thing to mention—it might be that the dining area felt either too bright or perhaps the tables were placed too close together... It gave off a slightly restless vibe or lacked a sense of calmness compared to other spaces in the accommodation. It almost felt like stepping into a completely different place with more of a cafeteria-like atmosphere—not disappointing but noticeably different from elsewhere in this lovely accommodation. Still, it's definitely an accommodation I'd love to visit again! Thank you so much to all the staff!

  • The Onsen and meals were very satisfying, and overall it was a good stay. The sauna in particular was very relaxing, and the meal portions were just right and delicious. However, it was disappointing that the female staff member who assisted us at check-in came across as somewhat overbearing. Because the first impression wasn’t great, it affected the rest of our stay a little. Also, regarding dinner time: at check-in we were only offered 17:30, 17:45, or 18:00, so we chose 18:00. But later guests seemed to have options up to 19:30. There was no explanation as to why our choices were limited, which left us confused. The Facility itself was excellent, so if the service and guidance improve, I think overall satisfaction would be even higher.

Where nature and art, past and future meet in the enchanting Mifuneyama Forest

We have cherished and preserved the unique nature, history, and culture nurtured around Mount Mifuneyama to this day. Looking toward the future, we have pursued new spatial concepts by connecting our facility with the forest of Mount Mifuneyama. As part of this vision, we present "Forest of Resonating Lamps and Spiral - One Stroke," transforming our floor lobby into an art-filled forest. Passing through this enchanting world, you will gradually be greeted by natural light illuminating white-walled guest rooms that highlight the beauty of each season's landscape.

Mifuneyama Rakuen

Mifuneyama Rakuen

Since its opening in 1845, Mifuneyama Rakuen has been a place to trace history and enjoy the present amidst the changing seasons. Spanning an expansive 500,000 square meters (150,000 tsubo), this magnificent strolling garden with a central pond was created by Shigeyoshi Nabeshima, the feudal lord of Takeo at the end of the Edo period in 1845. Set against the dramatic cliffs of Mount Mifuneyama, countless trees and flowers bloom throughout the year, offering visitors a chance to experience and appreciate Japan's beautiful seasons.
