The oldest Property in Yugawara since the Edo period, offering seasonal cuisine and hot springs from its own source.

A Ryokan with over 300 years of history. Enjoy two Onsen that smooth the skin and a foot bath with stunning views. Relax in a cozy Room filled with the warmth of wood and savor delicious seasonal cuisine.

  • The Onsen is wonderful. I enjoyed it multiple times. Although old, it was very clean and well-maintained. I hope it continues for a long time. I will visit again.

  • We stayed as a couple at this accommodation, which is designated as a Registered Tangible Cultural Property. True to its reputation, the exterior, rooms, and stairs all exude charm. The stairs are polished but quite steep, so it might be best to visit while you're still physically fit. Inside the accommodation feels like a maze; it took us until the end of our stay to fully grasp the layout. Our room was located around two and a half floors up, making it convenient to access the large public bath on the first floor. However, reaching the private baths on higher floors required climbing more stairs—good exercise! The room was purely Japanese-style with a clean and comfortable atmosphere. The private baths offered an open and relaxing experience with perfect water temperature—highly recommended! The large public bath on the first floor alternates between night and morning use for variety, which was enjoyable. I particularly loved the hot bath; though I could only stay in briefly due to its high temperature, it left me feeling refreshed and invigorated—a different kind of satisfaction compared to saunas. The quality of the water is exceptional and ranks among the best in Yugawara. The service was unobtrusive yet attentive enough for us—it felt just right. It seemed like a family-run operation with an ideal balance of presence without being overbearing—perfect for those who prefer minimal interaction. Even during meals, their timing felt appropriate (though they cleared other tables slightly early). For dinner, we enjoyed dishes such as grilled abalone and sashimi served in wooden tubs (we chose this specific course), showcasing Yugawara's fresh seafood at its finest. As frequent visitors to Yugawara accommodations, we’re certain we’ll return here again!
