Enjoy three different types of hot springs at a solitary Stays nestled in a tranquil forest.

A secluded Property nestled in the serene forest at the northeastern gateway to the World Heritage Site "Shirakami Sanchi." Its charm lies in a hidden hot spring that emerges amidst magnificent nature. Since its opening in 1893, "Hikage no Yu" has been renowned for its skin benefits and cherished as a miraculous spring known as "The Healing Waters of Three Days."

  • This was my first stay here.Above all, the Onsen were outstanding. I was able to enjoy a variety of baths— a clear, colorless iron-rich spring in the Room, a thick mixed sulfur and carbonated spring, and a gentle sulfur spring— and I was completely satisfied. The traditional Japanese meals made with mountain ingredients were also very delicious and easy on the stomach. I’m also grateful for the warm hospitality and smiles from all the staff.I would love to visit again. Thank you very much.

  • In a word: extremely satisfied! The Room is spacious, and while it has a bit of a Showa-era feel that can make some things less convenient, it has been nicely updated overall. The Onsen is milky white with a sulfur scent—truly feels like an Onsen.Dinner was delicious, incorporating Akita’s local cuisine very well. For breakfast, you can choose Hinai-jidori chicken rice porridge or steamed white rice, and the side dishes are plentiful. It’s not ideal for families with small children. Recommended for adults or couples who want to relax at a leisurely pace.Just one thing: the air-conditioning noise at night carries a bit. If you turn it off, though, it’s fine. This is an Accommodation I’d love to return to after a long time.

Introduction of the Accommodation

Onsen

Three new sources of power

Hikage Onsen has preserved its long-loved sulfur springs while introducing three new, potent hot spring sources for your enjoyment. Only at Hikage Onsen can you indulge in multiple captivating hot spring sources within one property.

Bicarbonate hot spring

With a moist sensation you've never experienced before, your skin becomes smooth! The white Onsen, aptly named "Beautiful Skin Bath," will enhance your beauty from within.

2. Popular Sulfur Hot Springs

The nostalgic aroma of Nikkei Onsen emanates from its white cloudy waters. Known as the water of lifestyle habits, soaking in this water is said to dilate capillaries, promote faster wound healing, and be effective for chronic skin conditions such as atopic dermatitis.

3. Noble Lady's Bath Iron Spring

The clear water from the source is a fountain of health. This magical water, which warms the body from within and stimulates hematopoiesis, is a popular Onsen during the harsh winters of Tohoku. ※ Enjoy it in the special room.

About Hygiene Measures
Regarding measures against infectious diseases such as the coronavirus, the following are our thorough safety measures, prioritizing the safety of our guests. 1. Health Checks We conduct health checks for all guests and employees. 2. Thorough Disinfection of the Facility We disinfect areas that guests directly touch, such as handrails and doors, four times a day. We also thoroughly disinfect guest rooms and dining areas, keeping the occupancy rate low to ensure that different guests do not enter the same room on consecutive days. 3. Space Disinfection within the Facility We operate the facility's air conditioning at full capacity and provide 24-hour ventilation. Additionally, we disinfect the air conditioning equipment daily. At Hienuki Onsen, we have adopted the latest independent air conditioning system for each guest room, minimizing the risk of the same air staying in the facility for long periods, allowing you to stay with peace of mind. 4. Installation of Alcohol-Based Hand Sanitizers We have installed alcohol-based hand sanitizers in more locations. 5. Hygiene Management Guidance for Employees We closed for 14 days from the day after an infection was confirmed in the prefecture and provided safety management guidance to employees. We re-inspected and maintained the facility's air conditioning equipment to ensure an environment where the virus does not spread, even in the unlikely event of an outbreak. 6. Safety Measures in Collaboration with Hospitals At Hienuki Onsen, we have developed a safety measure plan in collaboration with nearby hospitals to protect the health of our guests and staff. If you feel unwell, we will respond promptly under the guidance of a doctor. "Creating a Ryokan that Values Guests the Most" This is the commitment we made when our reconstruction team took over the bankrupt "Old Hienuki Onsen." Even in the severe trials we face now, this commitment guides Hienuki Onsen. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to those who are severely affected by the threat of the new virus and to those who are responding day and night on the front lines to curb the spread of infectious diseases. At Hienuki Onsen, we are monitoring the trends of the new virus 24/7 and taking all possible preventive measures to provide a healthy and safe stay. In such a situation, many people planning to return home or travel may feel anxious. However, we hope you understand that we prioritize the safety of our guests and have implemented thorough safety measures. We also take this opportunity to express our gratitude to the guests who trust and make reservations with Hienuki Onsen. Shirakami Yatate Yugenkyou no Yado Hienuki Onsen
