A “Smile” Accommodation Kind to People and Nature With the theme of “creating an Accommodation that is kind to people and nature,” we continue striving to provide a safe, comfortable space for our guests while being mindful of the natural environment. We also aim to make every stay a memorable experience through warm hospitality with a smile, thoughtfully prepared meals, and impeccably clean spaces—seeking to be a Ryokan that combines Japan’s traditional culture with modern comfort. With gratitude for nature’s blessings, and in order to preserve them for future generations without interruption, we would like to introduce our initiatives toward creating an Accommodation that values harmony with nature and is kind to both people and the environment.
The large public bath is available from 5:30 a.m. to midnight, so I was able to enjoy the Onsen many times at different hours.Both dinner and breakfast were nourishing and truly delicious. Ryokan meals can sometimes be heavily seasoned, but here nothing was surprisingly salty, and I enjoyed everything.In the guest lounge, there were treats like dadacha-mame ice cream and Onsen manju, plus DIY Onsen eggs—these little services were a lot of fun. I also appreciated that soft drinks were unlimited.The garden is lovely, and there are also amenities like spa treatments, table tennis, and a large shogi board, so there’s plenty to enjoy inside as well.I had a luxurious time soaking in the Onsen, enjoying great food, and relaxing at the Accommodation.I would definitely love to visit again.
Hagi0505 8/10/2026Hohoemi no Yado Taki no Yu is our favorite Accommodation in Tendo Onsen that we return to again and again. The room we stayed in this time had newly updated water facilities, and the beds set in the Japanese-style room were spacious, making the stay even more comfortable. In addition to the large public bath, the breakfast buffet was arranged with plenty of space between tables, so we could enjoy our meal calmly even during busy times. Dinner was elegantly seasoned and just the right amount, and our whole family was very satisfied with the warm, smiling service from the dining staff. We would definitely like to stay again next year. By the way, it was also very convenient that the meeting point for “DMC Tendo Onsen,” which we had reserved for sightseeing in Tendo the next day, was just steps away (a 1-minute walk), highly recommended.

Alongside seasonal local ingredients nurtured by Yamagata’s rich natural environment, we also use pesticide-free organic vegetables grown on our own farm. We also take care to avoid chemical seasonings, preparing “safe,安心, and delicious” dishes that are gentle on the body with heartfelt care. Centered around Yamagata beef, known for its deep flavor and mellow richness, please enjoy the true taste of seasonal ingredients.
