A Ryokan with traditional Japanese Sukiya architecture, the only place in Japan to enjoy the Kuroiso Onsen.
The Ryokan "Kansui-en Kakuraku" in Nasushiobara offers hospitality, cuisine, and Onsen. Enjoy a relaxing moment in a comfortable space crafted by the host, featuring 100% natural Kuroiso Onsen and dishes made with Nasu ingredients such as Tochigi Wagyu beef and Ayu fish.
We stayed as a couple with our 0-year-old baby. From check-in, they took a photo of the three of us and provided toys for our child. At dinner, our child got sleepy, and when we asked for a floor cushion, they kindly brought one right away.During the koto performance, they even played children’s songs, and our daughter seemed to really enjoy it.Traveling with a child can be challenging from the very start when choosing an Accommodation, but everyone was truly kind to us.Thanks to them, we had a wonderful time.Thank you very much.
れっぺっぺ 4/20/2026Everything was perfect—from the hospitality and Onsen to the meals and service. The Onsen was at a comfortable temperature and excellent quality, and since the large public bath was very close to our Room, we could enjoy it as often as we liked. The food was not overly seasoned, allowing the natural flavors of each ingredient to shine, and we were extremely satisfied with both dinner and breakfast.Everyone at the Accommodation welcomed us warmly from start to finish, making this an outstanding stay.We will definitely return!

Introduction of the Accommodation

The "Kansui" in "Kansui-en" refers to "涫水" (Kansui), which in Chinese means "a place where water springs forth abundantly." The previous owner named this Property "Kansui-en Kakuraku," inspired by the natural surroundings and abundant Onsen in this area, with the meaning of "learning and realizing comfort." It is our joy at "Kansui-en Kakuraku" to have our guests spend their time in their own style, relax, and return home feeling refreshed. At Kakuraku, we offer koto performances between 5:00 PM and 6:30 PM.

Meal
Savor the flavors of Nasu, including Tochigi Wagyu beef and ayu fish. Nasu, known as a treasure trove of ingredients, is especially famous for its highland beef and vegetables. Our signature dish, "Tochigi Wagyu Beef Grilled on a Ceramic Plate," brings out the ultimate harmony and flavor of these premium ingredients. Additionally, the nearby Naka River boasts the highest catch of ayu fish in Japan, earning it the nickname "The Shimanto of the West and Naka River of the East."

Onsen and bath
From the previous owner's wish "to allow guests to relax in the Onsen in this area," we drilled the Onsen and extracted water rich in sodium calcium sulfate from 1,200 meters underground. This is the only Kuroiso Onsen, our pride. With an open-air bath entirely made of hinoki wood using 100% natural Onsen water from the source, and a popular herbal mist sauna for detoxification, you can refresh both your mind and body.
