Nine Safety & Hygiene Measures at New Hakkeien Thank you very much for your continued patronage of “Izu Nagaoka Onsen New Hakkeien.” As part of our COVID-19 infection prevention measures, we are implementing the following “Nine Safety & Hygiene Measures.” We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding and cooperation to protect the safety and health of our guests and staff. 1. Temperature screening with an infrared thermometer We ask for your cooperation with temperature screening using an infrared thermometer upon entry. If a temperature of 37.5°C or higher is detected, we will request a recheck using an underarm thermometer. If 37.5°C or higher is confirmed with the underarm thermometer, entry will be refused. 2. Disinfection of shoe soles upon entry By walking over a disinfectant mat containing sanitizing solution, dirt on shoe soles will be removed and disinfected. 3. “Speedy check-in” to minimize waiting time To streamline entry procedures, we will omit the verbal explanations previously provided at the front desk, and instead provide guidance via a small leaflet to speed up check-in. *If you have any questions, please speak with our staff after entering. 4. Request to wear a mask inside the facility We ask that you wear a mask except when bathing or eating/drinking. Please also use the alcohol-based hand sanitizer provided throughout the facility. 5. Careful attention to guests’ condition Even if there is no fever, we will remain attentive to any changes in guests’ physical condition within the facility. Upon entry, we may also conduct a brief health check interview. 6. NO!! Three Cs (Closed spaces, Crowded places, Close-contact settings) To prevent the Three Cs, we ensure thorough ventilation and may implement admission restrictions or usage limits when crowding is expected. 7. Providing a comfortable environment From April onward, all areas are non-smoking; smoking is permitted only in designated smoking rooms. *Eating or drinking while smoking is not permitted (including both conventional cigarettes and heated tobacco products). 8. Enhanced disinfection and cleanliness patrols Areas frequently touched by guests (doorknobs/handles, inside lockers, in-room tablets/remotes, buffet tongs and drink-bar buttons, etc.) are disinfected by wiping each time as needed. In addition, slightly acidic hypochlorous acid water sprayers are installed in the lobby and dining venues; all staff carry slightly acidic hypochlorous acid spray, and we have strengthened routine cleaning patrols. We also ventilate by opening windows whenever possible to avoid enclosed spaces. 9. Staff health management Before each shift, staff undergo temperature checks; daily records are managed and verified thoroughly, and more frequent handwashing/gargling/hand sanitizing is carried out. *All staff members wear masks.
