An oceanfront Onsen Ryokan facing Kaike Kaiyu Beach. All guest rooms except the single rooms feature a scenic Jacuzzi bath with views of the Sea of Japan. We also offer rooms with an open-air bath. We serve seasonal kaiseki cuisine made with ingredients at their peak. Meals are served in a semi-private restaurant setting, so you can dine in comfort and privacy. Our Onsen is Kaike Onsen, rich in salt minerals, offering an easy way to experience natural thalassotherapy. Enjoy bathing at two locations: the open-air bath building and the large public bath. A Finnish sauna is available for men, and an aroma steam sauna for women.

  • The Best Vacation

    I traveled to Tottori to see a friend from junior high school, and stayed at Hakusen, which my friend recommended. The meals and the hospitality were extremely satisfying, but I felt embarrassed because the bath was clearly visible from outside. The curtain only closed about one-third, and while you could say no one was really watching, I ended up making eye contact more than once.Other than that, it was great.

  • The spacious Room was comfortable.

    The Room was spacious, and we were able to relax comfortably. The meals were the right portion size and very delicious. Each dish was carefully prepared, with refined flavors. The eel kamameshi at dinner was especially tasty. One disappointment was that the large public bath and the open-air bath were far apart, so I couldn’t make it to the open-air bath. I appreciated being able to enjoy coffee and tea freely in the lobby. I would like to stay again.

- Your room type will be assigned by us as either a Japanese-Western room or a Japanese-style room and will be confirmed at check-in. Requests or advance specifications cannot be accepted.
- You may be assigned to a room with an open-air bath; however, due to construction staff moving on the scaffolding, the open-air bath cannot be used all day.

Kaike (pronounced “kai-ke”) is written with the characters meaning “Everyone lives.” The Onsen water, which wells up from beneath the sea, is rich in salt and minerals and is known for leaving you comfortably warm long after your bath. Its gentle, sea-embracing feel is unique to Kaike Onsen. At Hakusen, we value not only soaking in the Onsen, but also the luxury of surrendering to quiet time and doing nothing at all. Experience the soothing comfort found only at a seaside Onsen.
