    This was a wonderful inn, just as the reviews said. Although the facilities are old, everything felt clean throughout, and it was very comfortable. The baths in particular were so good that they alone made me want to come back.The view of the Hakuba mountain range from the open-air bath was so soothing that I could have stayed there forever. Soaking in the indoor bath fed by natural hot spring water eased my fatigue, and I slept soundly through the night without waking even once.Breakfast and dinner were buffet-style with Japanese, Western, and Chinese options; not only did they cook beef steak and white shrimp tempura right in front of you, but there were also many dishes thoughtfully prepared using healthy local ingredients, which I really appreciated.I was also impressed by how quick-thinking and pleasant all of the hotel staff were. It’s a hotel I definitely want to visit again.

  • The open-air bath is amazing.

    Because it’s built on a hill with no obstructions, the open-air bath offered an amazing front-row view of the Northern Alps.However, since it was cloudy, we unfortunately couldn’t see the stars at night or the sunrise in the morning from the rooftop.We stayed for one night on our way back from Kamikochi, so we didn’t have much time to explore Hakuba, which was a bit disappointing.We’d definitely like to visit again.
