  • Exceeds expectations!!

    After visiting Ise Jingu from Tokyo, we stayed here. The Hotel is close to Kumano Sanzan and located by the Pacific Ocean. The staff were all wonderful, and the dinner featuring fresh tuna bowl, whale sashimi, and Tatsuta-age was exquisite. At the nearby Whale Museum, we had a rare experience feeding and touching whales. This clean and lovely Hotel offers a luxurious breakfast accompanied by live piano music. We stayed for two nights, enjoying the slow pace of time in Taiji Town—a place filled with whale and dolphin monuments—and hoped that this traditional fishing culture continues for generations to come. We truly want to visit again! Thank you to all the Hotel staff for your hospitality! Highly recommended Hotel for everyone!

  • Great staff service

    The staff's courteous service was outstanding. I never expected to receive such top-notch hospitality in Wakayama. The smiles, language, and attitude were all so exceptional that it made me wonder if this was a first-class Hotel. I was deeply impressed by the attentive care provided to guests. Even the worn towel in the restroom and the stiff door were completely overshadowed by this excellent service.

    [Notice] Pool Opens from Monday, June 8

    With June expected to be hotter than usual again this year, and in light of recent extreme summer heat, we have decided (Done) to open our pool one month earlier than normal so that guests can enjoy a more comfortable trip to Kumano.

    Overnight guests may use the garden pool free of charge (pool-only admission is available for a fee). Before or after visiting the Kumano Kodo or Nachi Falls, unwind with a refreshing moment by the pool surrounded by nature.

    The garden pool at “Hana Irodori no Accommodation Kayu” is located within our expansive gardens, with the mountains of Kumano stretching out all around.
    It’s perfect for cooling off after sightseeing in the UNESCO World Heritage Kumano Kodo or the Nachisan area—and also ideal for families with small children and summer holiday leisure time.

    [New] Seaside Illuminations & Night Walk Now On!

    Starting July 22, 2026, the “Seaside Illuminations” have begun, connecting the gardens of Gran Ocean Luxe Umikumanono and Accommodation Hana Irodori no Yado Kayu.

    Stroll at a relaxed pace along the magical “Path of Light,” decorated with a large illumination monument and around 50 solar lights, while listening to the sound of the waves. Guests staying with us can also borrow lanterns free of charge.

    In addition, a limited-time illumination celebration event will be held through August 31!
    Find the hidden “glowing cubes” in the night garden to receive a complimentary “glowing drink” at the bar. Also, if you post photos of the illuminations or your drink on Instagram with the designated hashtag “TaijiTownIllumi,” your bar drinks will be half price.

    Enjoy this dreamy summer night experience.
