Savor Umegashima Onsen—one of Takeda Shingen’s hidden hot springs—along with Shizuoka’s finest mountain and sea delicacies to your heart’s content.

A Property where you can enjoy the natural hot spring water from the source of Umegashima Onsen, which boasts a history of over 1,700 years, with a pH of 9.6, flowing directly without any recycling. Umegashima Onsen, known as one of the secret Onsens favored by the famous Takeda Shingen, offers its pure source water without any heating for your ultimate relaxation. Our specialty, the Umegashima-bred Suruga game fowl hot pot, is made with a broth simmered for about half a day using chicken bones, creating an exquisite flavor. Additionally, indulge in unique dishes that combine the mountain delicacies of Umegashima, surrounded by nature, with fresh seafood from Shizuoka.

    It was cool, and there were both a lukewarm free-flowing Onsen (the source is around 38°C) and a slightly heated bath, which made it perfect for a summer getaway. The meals were also delicious, with just the right portions. In particular, the tea and the aroma of freshly grated wasabi were wonderful—honestly, just rice with wasabi and ochazuke might be the best. It felt like a real treat. Maybe everything tastes better because the water is so pure. Since I went into the Onsen several times, I wished there were extra towels available, and I personally noticed a slight odor on the pillow, so I’m deducting one star—but my companion didn’t mind at all and was very satisfied with the spacious Room. Personally, I think a slightly smaller Room here would have been fine too, even with meals in a shared dining hall (it’s easier on the budget, and somehow that feels more in keeping with this Accommodation’s atmosphere). The view is beautiful, and it seems like you could enjoy the scenery right in front of you in any season.

    The Onsen was simply wonderful.I was soothed by the luxurious free-flowing natural hot spring water of exceptional quality.The meals were delicious, and the hostess’s cheerful greetings lifted my spirits.It was very quiet—perfect for a relaxing stay.

Notice from the Accommodation

■About the Room “Umemizuki” – Enjoy a soothing view –■

A relaxing Room where you can enjoy the richly colored seasons of the deep mountains.
With 2 beds + a sofa bed, up to 4 guests can use beds.
On the top (3rd) floor, there is only one Umemizuki Room.
*Elevator available.

■Some sections along the road are narrow and dark, so we recommend arriving early. Please travel safely.

■Passing over Abe Pass from the Yamanashi side is completely closed due to landslides and other hazards. Please come from the Shizuoka side, which offers better access. *Google information may be incorrect, so please be careful. If you have any questions, feel free to contact us.

We offer seasonal dishes featuring ingredients primarily from Shizuoka and Umegashima. While Umegashima is surrounded by mountains, Shizuoka is also renowned for its fresh seafood.     The autumn leaves around the Accommodation begin to change color little by little from late October each year, and are usually at their best from early to mid-November. (Timing may vary depending on weather conditions; please contact us for details.)

    1. Mt. Fuji view from Abe Pass
    On clear days, you can see Mt. Fuji with Osawa Collapse directly in front of you.
    A spectacular viewpoint where you can enjoy both autumn foliage and Mt. Fuji!
    (It takes about 20 minutes by car from our Accommodation to the pass, then about a 15-minute walk from the gate.)

    2. Otani Collapse (one of Japan’s Three Great Collapses)
    There is a literary monument by Aya Koda titled “Kuzure.” The autumn leaves here change color earlier than in Umegashima!

[By Train] Get off at Shizuoka Station on the JR Tokaido Shinkansen. Take a Shizutetsu bus for 115 minutes from Bus Stop No. 8 at Shizuoka Station bound for Umegashima Onsen, get off, then walk 2 minutes. *Buses run twice a day; please check the Shizutetsu bus timetable (Abe Line to Umegashima) in advance.
[By Car] About 50 minutes from Shin-Shizuoka IC on the Shin-Tomei Expressway to the Onsen entrance.
