<Renewed in 2024>“GYOSON Resort” — a Japanese-style retreat on a seaside hilltop

Minami Toba Osatsu is a town rooted in Ama culture and has been awarded one star by the Michelin Green Guide. A town of Ama divers and fishermen, this long-established accommodation was founded by a former Ama diver herself. As an accommodation where you can "enjoy endlessly," we underwent a major renovation in 2024, enhancing various facilities. "Five delightful stay benefits / All plans include sashimi boat platters (prepared by our award-winning chef) / A lively lobby 'AZUL' featuring fish therapy and hammocks / Skin-beautifying Onsen with pH 9.2 / Just 35 minutes to Ise Jingu Shrine." We aim to provide you with "relaxation" and "smile-filled memories."

  • We were planning an Onsen trip to celebrate my mother, and it was the first trip for three generations of our family. Since my mother cannot use the large public bath, we looked for a Room with a private open-air bath. Thanks to that, she was able to enjoy the Onsen. The bath in our Room was also fed by Onsen water, and she was very happy. We chose the standard kaiseki meal, but the portions were more than enough—so much that my sons had to give up at both dinner and breakfast. When I requested a cake for my mother’s 88th birthday celebration, they even prepared a red celebratory vest (chanchanko) for her as well, and we truly appreciated their thoughtfulness. The building was clean. The large public bath was small but spotless, and we were very satisfied. In the lobby there was a local sake tasting service, and in the morning there was also coffee service—everything felt very well provided. Our whole family was extremely satisfied. All of the staff were kind, and we had a comfortable stay. It became a wonderful celebratory trip. Thank you very much.

About Hygiene Measures
At Soku no Kaze, under the motto “Don’t spread it, don’t catch it,” we review our in-house Facility and operations and enforce thorough management to minimize infection risk for both guests and staff. [Closed spaces] According to definitions by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare and building environmental hygiene standards, a “closed space” refers to a CO2 concentration of 1,000 ppm or higher. At Soku no Kaze, we regularly measure CO2 levels in public areas such as the Healing Lobby AZUL, dining areas, and the large public bath changing room using CO2 monitors, and ventilate appropriately to prevent spaces from becoming enclosed. [Crowded places] Keeping a 2-meter distance requires at least 4 square meters per person. At Soku no Kaze, we calculate the maximum allowable number of people for each area and ensure occupancy does not exceed that level. We also use partitions as needed. [Close-contact settings] We strive to keep a 2-meter distance from guests. We also make use of partitions and formal white gloves when appropriate. We ensure proper ventilation in areas such as the lobby and dining venues by monitoring CO2 levels. We implement infection-risk countermeasures across all Facility areas and operations. Hand sanitizer is placed at the entrance, front desk, public restrooms, and each dining venue. We regularly disinfect doorknobs, elevators, public restrooms, and other high-touch surfaces. Staff thoroughly follow handwashing, gargling, sanitizing practices, mask wearing protocols. During Room cleaning we disinfect frequently touched surfaces and ensure thorough ventilation using CO2 monitors. Our staff will not share an elevator ride with guests. For further details on our measures please check our official website.
