Koyo-kan is a small Property with only six rooms, located within the grounds of Yasugi Kiyomizu Temple. Surrounded by mountains reflecting the four seasons and towering trees, we aim to provide a relaxing escape from everyday life. Our cuisine features Shojin Ryori, inspired by the ingredients and food culture of the San'in region. With a spirit of local gastronomy, our chefs personally explore the fields and mountains to prepare your meals. Please enjoy your dining experience with us.

Shojin cuisine, which uses neither meat nor fish, might seem restrictive or overly formal. However, it is precisely this simplicity that allows for unique cooking methods and creative ideas, offering a distinctive culinary experience. While terms like sustainability or veganism may feel daunting, we hope you will enjoy the delightful flavors of vegetable-based dishes and discover their charm.

Kiyomizu Temple Approach (Main Gate)

Within the grounds of Kiyomizu Temple

Kiyomizu Temple emerges as you ascend the gentle stone-paved path through the serene cedar forest. Within its grounds, lined with thousand-year-old cedars, you will find the Main Hall, a designated Important Cultural Property, along with the only three-story pagoda in the western region and other historic structures such as the Founder’s Hall. The area is steeped in timelessness and a majestic atmosphere.

All 6 Rooms are spaciously designed with two sections. From all Rooms, you can enjoy the diverse expressions of the Kiyomizu Temple grounds. There are also 2 Japanese-Western style Rooms with beds.

The approach has a traditional atmosphere but includes stone steps. We offer a Shuttle Service from the parking lot, so please call us upon your arrival. ※ Shuttle Service from Yasugi Station is not available.
