An Onsen Property located by the lakeside of Tōgō Onsen, offering seven types of Onsen for adult relaxation time.

A retreat for adults with only 28 rooms on a 6,000-tsubo property jutting out into Lake Togo. Originally bustling as a haven for literary masters to recuperate and create, this Onsen Ryokan has recently become a favorite among artists and creators. Enjoy a tranquil moment of healing as time flows by, doing nothing but gazing at the lake and garden in a serene environment. The open-air garden bath, the indoor bath boasting views of Lake Togo, and the complimentary private baths are all fed by free-flowing natural Onsen water. Guests can enjoy a tour of the baths within the spacious grounds. Our head chef, invited from a Ryokan in Kyoto, is dedicated to sourcing fresh, local ingredients through unique supply routes. In winter, we strive to procure the largest crabs available in season to serve to our guests.

Introduction of the Accommodation

Exterior

Welcome to Yōjōkan.

Togo Onsen is a hot spring area developed by the founder of our Property, and our Property is the oldest and most historic accommodation in Togo Onsen. In the travelogue "A Journey Around Japan" by Tayama Katai, the scenery of Lake Togo viewed from our Property is beautifully described. Lake Togo is also known as "Crane Lake" because, when viewed from above, it resembles the shape of a crane spreading its wings. In winter, the Onsen water rising from the warm lakebed creates steam on the lake's surface, offering a magical and enchanting atmosphere. We hope you will enjoy your stay at our Property, where the changing seasons of the lake and garden inspire creativity, whether for relaxation or workation.

Onsen and bath

Onsen and bath

All of our baths feature natural Onsen water flowing directly from the source. The open-air garden Onsen has been luxuriously flowing since our establishment. Indoors, we offer a Lake View bath with stunning scenery and a sauna located on the second floor of the main building. Additionally, you can enjoy seven private baths, including the complimentary private baths "Kira no Yu" and "Meigetsu no Yu," as well as the paid private open-air bath "Fuju no Yu," along with a foot bath in the garden. Take a leisurely stroll through our spacious facility and garden to enjoy a variety of Onsen experiences that suit your mood.

Meal

Meal

We offer dishes made with fresh local ingredients as well as seasonal delicacies from The whole country, sourced through our head chef's unique procurement routes. Our menu is available year-round in three options: "Standard," "Upgraded," and "Luxury Kaiseki." If you're unsure, we recommend the most popular "Upgraded" option. Without being bound by traditional Japanese flavors, we sometimes incorporate Western elements to deliver the best seasoning that complements the ingredients, bringing you the taste of the season.
