In March 2023, the Japanese-style room with an open-air bath was renovated! In-room dining is also available. Including the popular barrier-free Western-style room with an open-air bath, there are a total of 22 rooms with open-air baths. All rooms offer ocean views overlooking a beautiful white sand beach with AA-rated water quality. After enjoying the spectacular onsen, savor the delicacies of the mountains and sea. Choose from two types of cuisine: charcoal-grilled seafood kaiseki and traditional coastal kaiseki.
I stayed at Shimoda Yamatokan again this time.I’ve visited many times, and every time I come, it reminds me, “I’m so glad I chose this place.”The view of Tatadohama Beach right in front of the Accommodation is always stunning, and simply gazing at the ocean from the Room is incredibly relaxing.The food is delicious every time, and I was able to enjoy the Onsen at a leisurely pace—another very satisfying stay.Above all, the warm hospitality from all the staff is truly wonderful.Some staff members even remember me, which gives me a comforting feeling like coming home.Thank you again for a wonderful time!
We stayed in a Room with an open-air bath, had our meals served in the Room, and they even laid out the futon for us—everything was taken care of, so we could truly relax.The large public bath was great too!The food was delicious, and the Room was divided by a sofa into a window-side area, which made it easy to switch between spaces—this side for meals and sleeping, and that side for relaxing while looking out at the sea.The retro electric fan also matched Yamato-kan’s red-roof atmosphere perfectly—it really made us feel like we’d come to the seaside (lol).

Tatatohama
The renowned Tatadohama beach, with its white sandy shores and crystal-clear waters rated AA, offers waves suitable for beginners to advanced surfers right in front of you. With beach access, you can reach the beach in just a one-minute walk. Enjoy a relaxing surf trip with three sessions in the morning, afternoon, and evening without worrying about parking or showers.

We offer a wide variety of baby and kids' items. For families with infants or toddlers who tend to have a lot of luggage, we aim to help reduce your load so parents can relax and enjoy their stay comfortably.
The 5th-floor public bath and the private open-air bath on B1 do not have elevator access.
