A culinary accommodation run by a fisherman. Enjoy incredibly fresh seafood caught by the host and local fishermen.

A small property run by a Shakotan fisherman. The owner, prioritizing freshness and ingredients, only offers what they catch themselves or what is caught by long-associated local fishermen. Recommended for those who wish to enjoy fresh seafood.

  • Honestly, I was a bit worried about the room, but I decided to visit for the sea urchin, thinking "I can endure it for one night" (apologies!). However, true to their claim of "prioritizing cleanliness above all and thoroughly cleaning," the room and the entire accommodation were impeccably clean. Even though there was no shower in the room, having a toilet made it completely stress-free. As many others have mentioned, the meals were unique to Rinkoso. Both dinner and breakfast were absolutely satisfying. I thought this was an excellent accommodation that covered all key points perfectly. Given its location, it's not easy to visit frequently, but I will definitely return again!

  • We chose this accommodation after considering various factors, aiming to enjoy the delicious seafood of Shakotan. While it is categorized as a guesthouse, it offers excellent privacy and cleanliness, combining the best aspects of both a guesthouse and a hotel. The bath was clean and about the size of a family bath. We used a nearby day-use onsen during our stay but enjoyed a morning bath when no one else was around, so we didn’t feel any inconvenience. The ample supply of towels was also much appreciated. The meals were simple yet highlighted the quality of the ingredients, with their specialty sea urchin being so satisfying that we felt like we wouldn’t need to eat it again in our lifetime! Although there were four groups staying on the same day, it was very quiet and peaceful throughout our stay. While scenic views are not visible from the windows of this accommodation, Kamui Cape—a famous tourist spot—is nearby, allowing you to enjoy Shakotan Blue at its finest.

Introduction of the Accommodation

image d_001.jpg
Rinkou Sou is a small, family-run Property. We are dedicated to providing local seafood and heartfelt hospitality.

Rinkoso is a very small Property in Shakotan Town, run by me, the owner, my wife, our son, and a few staff members. It is by no means a luxurious or sophisticated Property. We prepare fresh seafood from Shakotan, sourced by me, a fisherman, and local fishers with whom I have long-standing relationships. The beautiful sea of Shakotan, designated as a National Park. A sky full of stars. The sounds of birds and animals. A 10-minute walk from our Property takes you to the stunning Shimamui Coast, selected as one of Japan's 100 Best Beaches. Surrounded by nothing but the quiet countryside. Local seafood and our utmost hospitality. This is all we can offer at our Property. Rinkoso Owner, Sugiura Satoru
