Kawazu Nanadaru Keiryu Onsen Saryo Mizumari
Shizuoka Prefecture/Kawazu Nanadaru Onsen"No-refusal hospitality" - A hidden onsen property nestled by the stream, limited to 3 groups per day.
Renovated in April 2022 as "Mizumari," this historic Ryokan, originating from a tea house established in 1865 (Keio 1st year), offers all rooms with open-air baths, in-room dining, and all-inclusive services. A kids' room is also available, catering to solo travelers and families alike.
The kids’ meals and amenities were excellent, and the Facility environment was wonderful for keeping children entertained. The kids’ room is open 24 hours, so even children who wake up early and are full of energy could enjoy themselves to the fullest. When our older grandchild fell ill on the second day, you were a tremendous help—preparing gentle-on-the-stomach meals and promptly taking care of the bedding. The adults who enjoy drinks also thoroughly enjoyed the all-inclusive plan.We would love to visit again. Just one request: we would feel safer if an additional lock for access to the open-air bath and footbath area could be installed higher up as well. Our 4-year-old can unlock doors on their own, and we felt anxious about them accidentally stepping out onto the terrace and potentially falling into the river. Thank you for considering this.
すわくま 8/11/2026My third stay, and my first time in Room 105! I was a little worried because I’d practically deified Room 103, but…Entering the room → Huh? Is it just a foot bath? Seriously… (lol) Of course not. You still get the same open-air area as Room 103, plus a foot bath (a bar where you can soak while having a drink), and on the bedroom side there are two Onsen baths with even more space than Room 103! On top of that, there are two chairs for post-bath relaxation. It ended up being the room with the largest private space overall. The Onsen in Room 105 is set on a properly built wooden platform, which adds an extra touch of luxury. The usual garden had a very summery vibe—there was a pool, water guns, and even a mist machine (handmade?). Love this kind of thing. The pool had lots of little “duck captain” floats swimming around. At the garden entrance they also provide Crocs-style loaner sandals that are fine to get wet.Cooling towels and insect repellent spray were fully stocked. The kids’ area is big enough to run around in and has strong air conditioning (ice-cold). This middle-aged guy burned some calories playing table tennis. Then came dinner—delicious enough to undo all that effort. I always praise it, but once again there was no chef’s name on the menu… Seems like they’re shy and not big on self-promotion. Apparently trained in Kyoto cuisine—the dashi and seasoning are refined and elegant.Their simmered sea bream is outstanding. There may be many Accommodations in Izu, but Mizumari’s simmered fish is simply on another level. And even though this chef won’t put their name on the menu, they quietly help carry guests’ luggage when they arrive (lol). The two attendants were cheerful as always, making conversation easy and enjoyable. They also made sure my previous points were properly applied, so I could relax like I was back at my parents’ home. There aren’t any flashy “ultra-luxury” items here—just genuine Showa-era hospitality that still lives on.Mizumari is an Accommodation where you can be taken care of without feeling tense or formal. This may sound like a sponsored Review again, but it isn’t—I’m posting because I want others to experience this kind of indulgence too. Please let me visit again; when my soul gets dirty, I’ll come back.

Introduction of the Accommodation

The clear stream of Amagi flows through the premises. Each room is equipped with a private open-air Onsen, allowing you to relax your mind and body with the sound of the flowing stream while enjoying 24-hour Onsen bathing. This luxurious Onsen features a 100% free-flowing natural hot spring source yielding 150 liters per minute.

While retaining the nostalgic and warm atmosphere of a traditional Onsen inn, we have extensively renovated two rooms to prioritize guest comfort and livability. Even when staying with a familiar companion or family, a certain level of private space is essential. These luxurious spaces offer an indoor floor area of over 60 square meters plus a balcony. Each guest room consists of two adjoining spaces: a 13-tatami living room and a 13-tatami bedroom. Additional features include a powder room for comfortable seating while applying makeup, a mini-bar to enjoy Western spirits and cocktails, and two separate restrooms per room. Of course, each room also comes with its own private open-air Onsen, fed directly from our natural hot spring source.
