Hokkaido/TeshikagaSee the Milky Way! A private pension to enjoy starry skies and breathtaking nature
The starry skies around Polaris are among the best in Japan! On moonless nights, turn off all the lights and enjoy a sky full of stars in one of the darkest areas in the country. Set away from neighboring homes, this standalone house at the edge of wide fields is an ideal location to experience Hokkaido’s nature. You may also spot wild birds in the area, such as long-tailed tits and great spotted woodpeckers. A small pension where you can fully enjoy northern wilderness in every season—spring, summer, autumn, and winter.
This was our second stay. Our previous visit left a strong impression, and we were looking forward to coming back. The owners’ warm hospitality was just as wonderful this time, and we had a very comfortable stay. The Accommodation was kept spotless throughout, making it a relaxing place to be.The meals were excellent, and we especially enjoyed trying ingredients we rarely get to taste, such as wolf eel. This trip was also for a special anniversary, and thanks to your thoughtful kindness, it became a truly memorable stay. Thank you very much.Unfortunately, the weather didn’t allow us to see the starry sky like last time, but every sightseeing spot you recommended was fantastic, and we were able to fully experience the charm of Eastern Hokkaido. When we visit Eastern Hokkaido again, we would love to stay here again.
Hide3k 7/28/2026About a 10-minute drive from Mashu Station, this Accommodation stands alone on a vast plain. From the dining room windows, we could truly feel the endless landscape of Hokkaido stretching out before us. After dinner, we went stargazing with the owner, and under clear skies there were an astonishing number of stars. They even took photos of us with the starry sky as a backdrop. It felt like a drama or movie poster and became a wonderful memory.
