Airplane: From Kumamoto Airport, take the express bus bound for Oita and get off at Miyaji Station. Approximately 15 minutes by taxi.
By car:
From "Kyushu Expressway, Kumamoto IC": Take Route 57 towards Oita. Turn left at the Miyaji Station intersection onto Route 11 and continue straight. About 2km from Shiroyama Observatory.
From "Oita Expressway, Hita IC": Take Route 212 towards Beppu/Oita, then head towards Oguni/Aso. From Daikanbo, it's 7km to the end of the "Yamanami Highway," then turn right and drive 2km.
