We stayed in the Cigar Suite. Because my husband smokes, I’ve always struggled to choose an Accommodation when we travel… This time we decided to stay in Yubara Onsen, and while researching I found this Room. I couldn’t believe it had a smoking area inside the Room—and even a beer server—so I made a Reservation thinking this was the only choice for us. After actually staying there, it was wonderful to see my husband relaxing instead of constantly going in and out of the Room like he usually does. The proprietress also explained why she created this Room, and I felt it was designed so both smokers and non-smokers can enjoy their time together.The food was delicious, and we were able to see the famous Sunayu scenery as well, so we truly had a great time. All of the staff welcomed us with lovely smiles, which helped us relax and enjoy a peaceful stay.
なおまま 6/7/2026Returning to Yubara Onsen for the first time in 30 years brought back memories of spending time there with my late father-in-law, sharing the Onsen together.This Ryokan, standing right in front of the famous Yubara Onsen Sunayu open-air bath on the west side, offered hospitality that fully lived up to my expectations.These days, many places can’t operate without relying on foreign workers, but everyone here seemed lively and cheerful, which left a very positive impression.In particular, a young woman who said she was working on a two-month contract responded with quick thinking and brisk efficiency—it was truly pleasant.The live-kitchen-style dining area made the food taste even better, and the morning rice topped with raw egg was outstanding; I couldn’t help but go back for seconds.
