I stayed with my husband and 4-year-old son as a family of three in August. The exterior feels a bit old, but the room and the hotel were clean, and the food, service, and onsen were excellent. We had a very comfortable stay with our son. This is definitely a hotel we want to stay at again!
かせゆみ 8/13/2025I visited a highland area to escape the heat. This was my second time staying at a Ryokan with mixed-gender baths. Outside, there was a bar made from an old train, which was enjoyable. However, I felt there is room for improvement regarding the mixed-gender bath. Although there are designated women-only hours, they are limited to late-night hours from 10 PM to 6 AM, making it difficult to fully enjoy the beautiful scenery during those times. If possible, extending women-only hours to include 6 AM to 9 AM would make the experience more comfortable. On the other hand, all meals were delicious and highly satisfying. The staff appeared to be mostly from overseas but provided kind and attentive service that left a strong impression on me. My heartfelt thanks go out to them!

Introduction of the Accommodation
A hot spring with emerald-colored water
This is the only ultra-deep Onsen in the country, formed from seabed strata of the Devonian period approximately 360 million years ago, filled with a fresh green hue and naturally containing various vitamins and minerals. The amount of natural hot spring flowers is abundant, and the tables formed by these flowers solidifying grow to a diameter of about 50 cm annually. Enjoy moments of harmony with the mystical green color, open-air baths adorned with precious stones, and the magnificent nature of Okuhida.
The "Taki-yu" and "Uta-se-yu" waterfalls lead to the cave bath "Baku-sen-dou." Enjoy a relaxing moment in the depths of the cave.
Okuhida has a tradition of welcoming guests with an abundance of local cuisine that is almost impossible to finish. The Irori Kaiseki meal incorporates excellent seasonal ingredients abundantly along with Onsen.
From the clean and tranquil rooms, you can overlook the Okuhida mountains and the clear stream of the Hirayu River, offering a refreshing view for the soul.
Other Facilities
A train that was once in active service is now a "Karaoke Train." The striking blue train at the front of our facility catches the eye. The carriages "Kiha 27 551" and "Kiha 27 552," which were once actively operating in Hokkaido, have been revived here as a Karaoke Train. This unique experience is sure to delight not only railway enthusiasts but everyone who visits!
