Introduction of the Accommodation

A rare three-story wooden Ryokan in The whole country

Wakanoya has welcomed many guests through the Meiji, Taisho, and Showa eras. The traditional Japanese architectural techniques are alive here, with design elements such as transoms and shoji screens preserved throughout. Experience the "beauty" of traditional Japanese architecture. *Highlights of Mameda District* Mameda District developed as a castle town for Nagayama Castle and the Daikan administrative office. It features numerous townhouses in the Edo-period style, reminiscent of Tenryo Hita, with many merchant houses from wealthy traders still standing. Spanning approximately 360m east to west and 470m north to south, covering an area of about 10.7 hectares, it retains its orderly town layout from its construction as a castle town in early modern times and subsequent expansions. Additionally, waterways built during the early Edo period remain intact. In 2004, it was designated by Japan's Agency for Cultural Affairs as an Important Preservation District for Groups of Traditional Buildings.
