Introduction of the Accommodation

Welcome to Fujinoyu, a hidden accommodation of seasonal beauty.
A small Onsen accommodation with just 8 rooms, quietly nestled in the Asama Onsen area. Experience the history and culture of Shinshu and Matsumoto in a serene atmosphere, allowing you to spend peaceful and relaxing moments. The natural hot spring "Bijin no Yu" (Beauty Bath) flows directly from the source and can be enjoyed not only in the large public bath but also in private tatami-floored baths or your room's bath, gently soothing your daily fatigue. Since its establishment in 1832, this accommodation has preserved its long history and traditions while evolving with the times. We warmly welcome you with heartfelt hospitality tailored to each guest.

A comfortable space surrounded by charm and tranquility.
The building of Fujinoyu, which has undergone gradual renovations since the Meiji era, retains its traditional charm. Each room features unique decor, showcasing antique art passed down through generations and seasonal flowers to create a comfortable atmosphere. Rooms with semi-open-air Onsen baths fed directly from the source allow you to enjoy a relaxing soak without concern for time or surroundings. All rooms offer a serene and traditional ambiance, ensuring a peaceful and tranquil stay.

Relax quietly in the historic Asama Onsen.
Asama Onsen, boasting a 1,300-year history. Enjoy the colorless, transparent "Bijin no Yu" (beauty-enhancing hot spring) in the large public bath or from your room while taking in the seasonal scenery through the windows. The complimentary private onsen with fully tatami-matted floors offers a safe and relaxing experience for elderly family members or small children.

A Relaxing Moment to Savor the Blessings of Shinshu
Both dinner and breakfast are served in your Room, allowing you to enjoy meals and conversations in privacy. Our fusion-style New Japanese cuisine, crafted with seasonal ingredients from local Shinshu, can be savored using only chopsticks. Additionally, pair your meal with carefully selected Shinshu sake chosen by the young proprietress for a truly delightful dining experience.

Timeless history and culture preserved within the property
Asama Onsen is a renowned hot spring once cherished as the private bath of the Matsumoto Castle lords. It holds heirlooms, antique art, and historical documents passed down through generations closely tied to the castle's history. Fuji-no-Yu, formerly known as "Haseo no Yu," is believed to have been visited by the famous haiku poet Matsuo Basho, whose signature "Haseo" inspired its name. The onsen offers a sense of history and charm spanning from the Edo period to today. Though our Ryokan is small, we warmly invite you to enjoy displays throughout our facility that reflect this rich heritage. Please relax and immerse yourself in its timeless atmosphere.
