  • Last year, I invited some friends and stayed here, and this year we were able to visit again around the same time because they really wanted to come back. I have visited several times for family events, and we were welcomed with the same warm smiles as always. The delicious, heartfelt meals, the well-kept and comfortable Room, and the bath that felt truly refreshing made for a wonderful stay. It’s already on our schedule for next year too—we’re looking forward to it. Thank you very much.

  • A round wooden table is set by the window, offering a view of the beautiful garden from a clean, uncluttered Room. The bathroom has pleasantly warm water that is gentle on the skin—not too hot. The meals were delicious, with just the right portions and saltiness. And all the staff greeted us with calm, warm smiles. Everything felt comfortable, and we had a truly wonderful holiday. The location was also easy to reach, so I’d love to return as a place to unwind when I’m tired—and next time, I hope to stay for a Multiple Night Stay. Thank you very much for such a relaxing time.

Introduction of the Accommodation

Local flavors and nourishing dishes shape the body.

There is a word "滋味" (Jimi), which refers to meals that promote health. Eating local ingredients in their place of origin—this essence of meals has been passed down by our ancestors. "Gozukon," a traditional combination of sesame, beans, and kelp, has been cherished on Japanese dining tables since ancient times. These ingredients help build a strong and healthy body. Enjoy seasonal dishes prepared with Gozukon to cleanse and nourish your body from within. Relax and savor a warm, comforting meal in your Room. Some of the tableware used for meals is also available for purchase at our shop.

Art - Warehouse Museum

At Daikokuya, since 2002, an annual exhibition of new works by Kishi Sugaki has been held. In 2008, the "Warehouse Art Museum" was opened to permanently exhibit Sugaki's works. This is the only museum in the world that exclusively displays the works of Kishi Sugaki, one of the leading artists of the Mono-ha movement.

The Itamuro Onsen, cherished for centuries as Shimotsuke's medicinal hot spring. The natural hot spring, flowing at around 40°C, gently warms the body from within.

Meal

There is the term '滋味'—a meal for becoming healthy. People in the past taught us the essence of meals: consuming local produce in its place of origin.
