An accommodation in Naruko Onsen Village offering natural free-flowing hot springs and 8 types of bathing experiences.
Ryokan Onuma is nestled in Naruko Onsenkyo, one of Oshu’s three famous hot spring areas with a 1,200-year history. Our Accommodation is a small, traditional hot spring inn that has long preserved its free-flowing natural Onsen. From the natural Onsen known as “Bijin-no-Yu” for its serum-like feel on the skin to private baths and large communal baths, you can quietly enjoy eight different bathing options. Step away from the bustle of everyday life, refresh your body and mind in the Onsen, and spend a peaceful time relaxing as if this were your second home.
It started with the open-air bath in a separate annex, and the Onsen was wonderful.I left the Accommodation in a hurry because it looked like my return train might stop running due to the weather.Next time, I’d like to stay for two nights and relax—enjoying the Onsen and spending plenty of time reading.
せこびっちや 11/30/2025This was my second one-night stay, this time with an overseas friend, right at the peak of Naruko’s autumn foliage. The Onsen is free-flowing and slightly hot, yet pleasantly therapeutic, and the steamed bath—like a stone sauna—is perfect for cooling down after bathing. There are several reservable private family baths; on the 4th floor, the shaded and sunny baths offered beautiful views of the autumn leaves outside. Calligraphy pieces written by the proprietress are displayed throughout the building, giving it the feel of a small calligraphy exhibition. The matcha served at both check-in and check-out was especially appreciated by our guest from the USA. Every dish featured local ingredients with gentle seasoning and great flavor—and the rice was so good I ended up eating too much. Unfortunately, due to bear precautions we couldn’t use the open-air bath; however, the quiet detached open-air bath we were shown, as well as the annex and tea room, were splendid—I imagine they take a great deal of effort to maintain. The Nikkei newspaper was available early in the morning. Aside from a slight noise at night from drawing hot water, it was an excellent therapeutic Accommodation.

Introduction of the Accommodation

A Modern Hot-Spring Retreat That Feels Like Home
Ryokan Onuma is a small, traditional Accommodation where you can refresh both mind and body in the Onsen. We would be delighted if you could use it like a second home—whether you need to unwind or find fresh inspiration. We look forward to welcoming you back.

Behind the Accommodation, about a 10-minute walk up the hill, there is a small private open-air bath leading to “Yunozanmai.” Enjoy the rejuvenating experience of “Kaiyoku Senshin” (a cleansing bath for body and mind). We also offer Shuttle Service by car—please ask at the front desk. *“Kaiyoku Senshin” is a bath for cleansing the mind, so no soap or shampoo is provided, and bringing your own is not permitted. Thank you for your understanding. Fee: 1,650 yen per person per use (one group: 30 minutes) (tax included) Elementary school students: 550 yen / Children under elementary school age: Free

Choose from a selection of seasonal dishes
Meals at Ryokan Onuma follow the concept of “Yushoku Dosen” (hot springs and cuisine from the same source). We carefully prepare each dish using locally sourced rice and soybeans. To suit your stay, we also offer a healthy “one soup, five dishes” set meal that is gentle on the stomach. While not extravagant, we strive to serve food that leaves you feeling truly satisfied.
