To ensure our guests can stay with peace of mind, Best Western Hotels worldwide strictly follow brand guidelines for hygiene management within the Facilities and for employee health management. Likewise, each Best Western Hotel we operate in Japan implements the following measures in accordance with the Best Western brand’s “We Care Clean” guidelines.
- At check-in, we implement infection-prevention measures such as avoiding direct face-to-face contact, and conduct temperature checks and identity verification for all travelers.
- We conduct health checks (including temperature screening). If a guest has a fever or cold-like symptoms, we can seek guidance from the public health center (including on weekends) and respond appropriately.
- For shared Facilities such as public baths and dining venues, we set limits on capacity and usage time to thoroughly prevent crowding in enclosed spaces.
- For buffet-style service, we reduce shared contact by offering individually plated meals, having staff serve portions, or providing dedicated tongs/chopsticks per guest; we also space seating appropriately to prevent crowding during meals.
- We thoroughly disinfect and ventilate guest rooms and shared spaces such as elevators.
- We publicly disclose that these “participation requirements” are being fully implemented via our website and notices posted at the front desk.
- When making a Reservation/purchase of travel products or at check-in at the Accommodation, we ensure travelers are fully informed of required compliance items. Group travel by young people, group travel by older adults who are more likely to become severely ill, and trips involving large banquets are generally considered higher risk and should be avoided where possible. However, this does not automatically exclude such trips from support; if conducted (e.g., school trips/educational travel), it is essential that reliable infection-prevention measures are in place, and this will be communicated thoroughly so that travel is carried out appropriately.
