A Japanese-style Ryokan in Kinugawa where you can stay with your dog or cat, for a relaxing nature-filled getaway

A pioneering Accommodation in Japan that was among the first to welcome pets staying in the same room. As a traditional Japanese Ryokan, we have hosted over 140,000 pets. With our extensive experience, we provide hospitality so you can relax and enjoy your stay with peace of mind.

  • We stayed here for the first time just after New Year’s, and my spouse, our dog, and I were all very satisfied—so we came back again four months later. Everything was excellent: truly pet-first, wonderful staff hospitality, great meals, and relaxing baths. Modern stylish Accommodations are nice too, but we really love Kinugawa’s charming retro atmosphere… We’re already planning our third visit this year… We’ll be coming all the way from Izu (lol). See you then!

  • We stayed as three families, using three Rooms.Only our family brought a dog.We used the private family bath with our dog, and he absolutely loved it—I truly felt glad we brought him. He also really enjoyed the dog run. It may be an ideal Accommodation for dogs.As for people, though, for this price I think we could have stayed at an Accommodation two levels higher. I felt bad for having invited my parents and relatives along. All the staff were kind, and I have no complaints about that. However, the Facilities and the large public bath (the one on the first floor has only five washing stations) didn’t feel worth the price.I think this is an Accommodation best suited to those who don’t mind paying extra in order to stay with their pets.If we come again, we’ll come only as our own family with our dog, without inviting my parents or relatives.

Introduction of the Accommodation

As a cherished member of your family

Our Hotel’s journey to becoming pet-friendly began with our second-generation proprietress. Inspired by films, she welcomed an American Cocker Spaniel into her family and shared many years together. Her own travels abroad—especially experiencing Europe’s advanced pet culture—also helped shape our commitment to welcoming guests staying with their pets. Since the 1960s, we had accommodated dogs upon request. In 1986, however, media coverage introducing us as an “Accommodation where pets can stay” became the turning point that marked our start as Japan’s first Accommodation dedicated to welcoming guests with pets. To date, we have welcomed more than 140,000 pets. Today, in addition to the service of a traditional Japanese Ryokan, our entire team is devoted to providing thoughtful hospitality through both Facilities and services designed especially for guests traveling with their beloved pets.
