Established in the first year of Kansei. A property that chose old traditions over new innovations.

Motoyu Ishiya is a long-established Ryokan with ties to the Kaga Domain, continuing its legacy since the Edo period. We have preserved the traditional atmosphere of Kanazawa, with its nostalgic and tranquil charm, by maintaining the original appearance of our Property as much as possible. As a result, we often hear guests say, "This feels nostalgic" or "It brings peace to my heart." We are truly delighted to receive such kind words from our guests. Located in Fukatani Onsen, the front parlor of Kanazawa where nostalgic Japanese scenery remains, we take great care in preserving and utilizing old elements. We offer simple yet flavorful dishes that highlight the natural taste of the ingredients, and our amber-colored moor hot spring water, said to have healed the wounds of Miyamoto Musashi, provides a relaxing bath experience. We strive to help our guests relieve the fatigue of daily life, both in mind and body, and leave with the thought, "I'm so glad I came here." Additionally, with over 200 years of unpretentious hospitality passed down through generations, we warmly welcome our guests and aim to assist in creating a memorable journey.
