Founded in the late Edo period. Relax at a Property ideal as a base for Kusatsu tourism.

A small property with 14 rooms, established at the end of the Edo period, featuring 100% natural onsen. Excellent location, just 3 minutes from Yubatake, making it an ideal base for Kusatsu sightseeing. Two private baths are available for free for 40 minutes. We offer Japanese cuisine featuring local Joshu ingredients at reasonable prices. Smoking is prohibited throughout the premises (including all guest rooms).

  • We stayed in the Yuri Room, which comes with a semi-open-air bath. It features free-flowing Jizo hot spring water, one of our favorite sources in Kusatsu Onsen. The private Onsen was too hot to relax for long, but the in-room Onsen was at just the right temperature and very comfortable. We could enjoy both dinner and breakfast in the in-room dining area; it was a bit pricey, but choosing this room was absolutely worth it. The meals were not extravagant, but the portions were just right and the seasoning suited our taste.

  • The Room (Himawari) was spacious, and the private bath was excellent. During the cold winter season, it is recommended to stir the water and replace a portion with fresh hot water before bathing, as the bottom may feel cold initially. Unlike the nearby Otaki-no-Yu, the water here feels smoother. Although the composition chart appears similar, the water seems to have a different density based on how it supports your body in the bath.

Enjoy a cool stay at 1,200 m above sea level! Kusatsu is 7°C cooler in summer!

Kusatsu is a highland town at an elevation of 1,200 meters.

Even during the hottest season in July and August, the average temperature is around 18°C, and it rarely exceeds 30°C.

A note to our guests—so you can fully enjoy Kusatsu in summer...
    - Please expect cool weather even in summer (temperatures above 30°C are rare).
    - Just in case, we recommend bringing a light jacket or something to throw on.
