What HOTEL MODA wants to offer is the sensation of letting go. All seven rooms feature a private open-air bath and terrace, and during your stay you can enjoy food and drinks freely in our guest-only lounge. Amenities and spaces crafted with intention in every scent, sound, and touch. We offer time in which both mind and body gradually relax.
I visited with my wife. From the moment we stepped into the Accommodation, we felt it was a place to relax and unwind. We thoroughly enjoyed the free-flow drinks from 3:00 PM (a truly welcome system for those who enjoy alcohol—I even ended up drinking a bit too much). While there are shared spaces, the focus is on spending time in your private Room. Rather than a detached building typical of an Onsen Ryokan, it may be best to picture a cottage with a simple open-air bath. Instead of rushing through check-in and check-out for sightseeing, I recommend checking in early and taking your time to enjoy the bath and relax in your Room.
I avoided the Silver Week holidays and, since I’d been curious, made a Reservation that morning. I received a text message so I could complete the pre-check-in process via QR code, which also made it easy to ask questions in advance. I heard there is a Shuttle Service, but I drove my own car. I got slightly confused at the parking entrance partway up the mountain, and since there are stairs to the front desk with no ramp, I was glad I wore comfortable shoes.After arrival there was a welcome drink service. Since I’m not good with alcohol, I enjoyed soft drinks—iced coffee and roasted brown rice tea—which were delicious. The mixed nuts, dried banana, and biscuit marshmallows were also great, and I was able to relax in my favorite Y chair.My husband loves TV, so we chose a Room where it’s easy to watch from the bed rather than focusing on the view. The shower booth had a rain shower as well, and the bath was at a very comfortable temperature—I really enjoyed soaking.There is a mini-kitchen with drinking water available for use; it was easy to fill the kettle and manage the temperature when boiling water. The coffee was excellent.The layout and interior design matched my taste and gave me ideas I'd like to incorporate at home. The bed was spacious and very comfortable—I slept soundly until morning.Check-out is at 10:00 am, but since we didn’t have meals included we checked out early.Thank you for all your help—I’d love to stay again. Sorry for mentioning this under Facility information, but what concerned me slightly was that the approach path felt difficult to walk on. Other than that, it’s compactly designed with easy access between the Room and lounge area; it felt welcoming—like having our own vacation home.

To provide a more comfortable and flexible stay, our Hotel has partially transitioned to a self check-in system without front desk staff on site (check-in by appointment between 15:00 and 17:30).
