At an altitude of 1,123m, surrounded by a tranquil forested lakeside. Here, you are allowed the luxury of doing nothing. Simply gaze at the water's surface and listen to the sound of the wind rustling through the trees. Savor nature's blessings from the forest and feel the gentle ripples of the lake— suddenly, nostalgic memories may resurface. Scents, textures, sounds, and flavors awaken your senses— bringing back innocent childhood moments or a sense of comfort once felt. When you visit here, a natural kindness emerges within you— towards yourself, your loved ones, and even those you've yet to meet. Eventually extending to society and our planet as well.

  • It was an incredibly relaxing accommodation.

    I stayed here on a solo trip. When I arrived at the Accommodation, Lake Matsubara spread out right in front of me, and I spent time enjoying the view from the window. The Room was very clean, spacious, and quiet, so I could relax comfortably. The bath was spotless as well, which was great. The food was delicious, and I could really feel the care put into each dish. I was also impressed by the stylish tableware used for the meals. The tomato juice in the refrigerator was incredibly tasty. Throughout the service and cuisine, I strongly felt how much the staff want guests to get to know this town, which truly moved me. I would love to stay again. Thank you very much.

    From the small amenities to the staff who warmly enhance the service throughout the Hotel, everything reflected thoughtful attention and a relaxing sense of hospitality. This Accommodation, standing by Lake Matsubara as a continuation of a previously built Hotel, is one of my favorite places I have ever stayed. Thank you very much.

After a long winter, spring awakens with budding greenery that gradually paints the trees in vibrant hues. As the sun grows warmer, visitors enjoy fishing for crucian carp from boats on the lake. At an altitude of 1,123 meters, summers here are cool, and nights can be refreshingly chilly. On clear nights, you're enveloped by a sky full of stars. As summer fades away, green leaves turn to shades of yellow and red. By December, the lake freezes completely over; colorful tents for smelt fishing dot the ice against a backdrop of Mount Yatsugatake. Experience these ever-changing seasons and moments unique to this place through our heartfelt hospitality and cuisine.

About Komi Town

Approximately 2 hours by train or 3 hours by car from Tokyo, Koumi Town is located in the eastern part of Nagano Prefecture, near the center of the Minami-Saku region. Over 1,000 years ago, a large lake was formed when a river was dammed due to a steam explosion from Mount Yatsugatake, and it came to be known as "Koumi." The Matsubara Lake area where HOTEL MIYAM is situated is said to have been a sacred site for local faith. It lies at the foot of Matsubara Suwa Shrine, established during the Heian period and deeply revered by Takeda Shingen.
