The cuisine, Room, Onsen, and service were all excellent. It truly made us want to come back!At the end of our summer vacation, we made wonderful memories here and felt motivated to work hard again.We have stayed at other Accommodations in Ikaho several times, but Kogure is the best.Please continue your warm hospitality and bring comfort to many more guests.
We stayed with two children, and everything was even better than we imagined. From check-in to dinner and through check-out, everyone we met welcomed us with warm smiles and genuine hospitality. When I briefly mentioned where we were heading next at check-out, a staff member from the front desk even came after us to bring discount coupons—such thoughtful care.The bath facilities are designed to be truly enjoyable, just as other guests have said, and it may have been the best Hotel I’ve ever stayed at. The water temperature was perfect for me, so I could soak for a long time. The meals were also very satisfying, even though we chose the most affordable Plan.It seems Mr. Kogure was once a major landowner around Ikaho, and given that history, I felt this might be the finest Hotel in Ikaho. I also found the exhibits about the Hotel’s history and how the Onsen water is sourced extremely interesting.Next time, I’d like to return with my parents (in that case, since it’s a little distance from the stone steps and there is a steep slope up to the entrance, it would be convenient for older guests if there were a shuttle bus from the bottom of the stone steps where highway buses from Tokyo arrive—though this may already be available).One small surprise: a female staff member was cleaning the men’s bath (she was very pleasant and considerate), but that did catch me off guard. Aside from that, it truly was a perfect Hotel. I hope you continue helping make Ikaho even more vibrant—highly recommended.

A grand hot spring bath, one of the largest in Northern Kanto, located on a hill with stunning views of the Joshu mountains.
In the early Tensho period, the Takeda clan, a prominent Sengoku-era family, allocated the hot spring sources of Ikaho to 12 village leaders using a system based on the Chinese zodiac to protect these ancient springs. Hotel Kogure, as the leading household at that time, was granted rights under the first zodiac sign "Rat" and still holds one-fourth of the total output of the "Golden Hot Spring" source (approximately 1,000–1,100 liters per minute). Enjoy this rich hot spring heritage preserved through generations and take in breathtaking views of Mount Joshu.
