    On our first trip to Ikaho Onsen, we were very satisfied with the relaxing Room. It was spacious enough for a family of four, and we could unwind comfortably.Dinner was also served in a private, partitioned space, and we were able to take our time enjoying an elegant course featuring locally sourced ingredients.It became a wonderful memory.

A grand hot spring bath, one of the largest in Northern Kanto, located on a hill with stunning views of the Joshu mountains.

In the early Tensho period, the Takeda clan, a prominent Sengoku-era family, allocated the hot spring sources of Ikaho to 12 village leaders using a system based on the Chinese zodiac to protect these ancient springs. Hotel Kogure, as the leading household at that time, was granted rights under the first zodiac sign "Rat" and still holds one-fourth of the total output of the "Golden Hot Spring" source (approximately 1,000–1,100 liters per minute). Enjoy this rich hot spring heritage preserved through generations and take in breathtaking views of Mount Joshu.

Notice from the Accommodation

  • Notice of Ikaho Onsen Source Cleaning Day

    At Ikaho Onsen, the source spring facilities are cleaned regularly. During this work, the supply of hot spring water to each Accommodation will be suspended for several hours.

    The work is scheduled for the following date:

    Wednesday, September 9, 2026

    As “Kogane-no-Yu” is a free-flowing Onsen (direct from the source), the bath temperature will drop while the supply is suspended. As a result, bathing at the usual temperature will be available from around 4:00 PM for the indoor bath and around 5:00 PM for the open-air bath.
    Baths that do not use Onsen water—such as the jacuzzi and silky bath—will be available as usual.

    We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding.

Effective for neuralgia, muscle pain, joint pain, and women’s health concerns. Long known as the “Onsen of fertility.” It also helps keep the skin moisturized and warm, and is beneficial for cuts, burns, rheumatism, and sensitivity to cold. Its mildly acidic water is gentle on the skin and is ideal for children’s first Onsen experience.
