HOTEL AO KANAZAWA, opened in September 2024 after renovating the iconic "Hokuriku Kaikan" built in 1966 near Kenrokuen Garden, offers an excellent location with a 1-minute walk to Kenrokuen and a 10-minute walk to the 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art and Higashi Chaya District. On the first floor and basement level, enjoy all-day dining at "Shokudokoro Kanazawa Suju," featuring freshly milled Ishikawa rice cooked in copper pots and dishes made with local Kanazawa ingredients. On the second floor, savor fresh sushi made from Hokuriku's local fish sourced from Omicho Market and Central Wholesale Market while enjoying views of Kenrokuen Garden or Ishikawamon Gate of Kanazawa Castle at "Kanazawa Sushi Matsunoshita." The hotel offers seven types of Rooms, ranging from private sauna-equipped Rooms for self-loylyu experiences to loft-style Rooms. Furnishings are kept simple yet comfortable, with cozy beds and linens as well as highly functional bathrooms. The space is subtly adorned with soothing interiors and art pieces for your relaxation.   • This is a very pleasant Hotel.

    I stayed here for a concert trip this time. Because of the concert end time and traffic, I didn’t arrive until 9:00 PM, and I ended up getting to dinner very late, but you welcomed me with a smile and I had a wonderful time. Breakfast was also delicious, and since I had some time before checkout, I was able to take a walk in Kenrokuen Garden across the street. The location is excellent, and above all, every staff member was smiling and seemed genuinely happy—I would definitely like to stay here again the next time I visit Kanazawa. Thank you as well for your thoughtful thank-you email.

    All staff were very helpful, and I had a comfortable stay. The Room did not have a window, but it didn’t feel cramped at all, and I was able to relax without being bothered by the lack of a window. The bathroom and toilet are separate; there is no bathtub, but if you’re fine with just a shower, this Room should be no problem. The amenities and complimentary drinks were also great, and I would like to stay here again when visiting Kanazawa.
