Tsuruya is an Accommodation with tatami flooring throughout. As the tea ceremony flourished from the Azuchi–Momoyama period onward, tatami came to cover entire Rooms, and Japanese people began sitting in seiza. Beyond tea ceremony, many Japanese arts ending in “-do”—such as calligraphy, flower arrangement, and judo—are deeply connected to tatami, which is considered a foundation that helped shape the Japanese spirit. Space, cuisine, and hospitality—this is what a Ryokan offers as it embraces the beauty of Japan’s four seasons in every detail. Step inside and, even on your first visit, you may feel a nostalgic calm and a special sense of comfort. The interior features corridors built around a Japanese garden, allowing you to enjoy garden views from many points throughout. Please savor the feel of tatami under bare feet or socks and spend a relaxing moment at your leisure.
The garden was magnificent. The bath was also an Onsen that warmed us to the core, and the meals were very delicious.We would definitely like to stay again. The cake included with the anniversary Plan was exceptionally good, and enjoying it with the complimentary coffee made for a truly happy time.

Introduction of the Accommodation
Our property is fully covered with tatami mats, offering the comfort of walking barefoot throughout. Spend time with your loved ones in a warm, welcoming space that feels just like coming home.
Our eight guest Rooms with open-air baths are each thoughtfully designed, including Rooms with private dining areas and Rooms accessible for wheelchair users. All Rooms are non-smoking (two designated smoking areas are available in the building).
Savor Tsuruya’s unique creative kaiseki with all five senses. Dinner and breakfast are served in a dining area, private dining room, or small banquet hall suited to your party size. Guest rooms with a private dining space are also available.
Relax and unwind in our tatami-floored large public bath Tsuruya’s large public bath features a “tatami bath,” with the entire floor covered in tatami mats. We use special waterproof tatami, so your feet stay warm even in winter, and you can enjoy their comfortable feel. The surface is slip-resistant and there are no steps, making it safe for guests with weaker legs or hips. Please take your time and relax in this new style of large public bath that blends Japanese culture—tatami and Onsen. In the powder area, we provide Dyson hair dryers with powerful airflow.
